13 step Scavenger Hunt suggestion

14/ You get the Biggoron sword from Zelda OOT instead of the precursor.
Improvements? Come up with an own idea, maybe?
wow… even the eyedrops from a frog… talk about lack of imagination.
It’s the thought that counts.. instead of criticizing it would be best to offer your own ideas. Even if his scavenger hunt isn’t exactly the one that would be the best at least this thread is open for others to come up with a good suggestion.
I would think that you’d need to put in multiple ways to obtain the precursor based on playstyle. Maybe the first step to this would be to identify what playstyle you’re targeting your suggestion towards and everyone can try to come up with an idea for each playstyle.
I’ll say that for dungeon goers that enjoy jumping puzzles (maybe a very niche group of people) that for each path in every dungeon, there be a very difficult and long jumping puzzle. Once you’ve collected broken pieces from all the jumping puzzles (requiring you to run every dungeon path once) you can then take those pieces to an armor smith from the past (whom resides in a fractal)… which requires that you do fractals until you get this new particular fractal which only appears after level 20 or something… I don’t know, that sounds hard enough and legendary enough to warrant a precursor to me.
if you’d have mentioned that it wasn’t your own idea, you may would’ve gotten a +1 from me :p
@Topic:
I like the basic concept, but I agree there have to be more ways to obtain them.
Maybe similar to the pre 30 personal story where you had to choose what way to go and could choose a different way in the next part.

Just made it to find out who’s a real gamer
The big problem with scavenger hunts, is that once you know the steps, they can usually be done rather fast. Moa Chick, Biggoron Sword, Chromatic Breastplate even, they’re not particularly difficult to get. While doing it all can be considered legendary, they do devalue the item itself. Black Moa chick is about the easiest mini to get in GW2.
Even Quel’Serrar and Anathema ended up being relatively common items in WoW, despite their difficult scavenger hunt. At least 30 Drakefire Amulets were required to kill Onyxia, which was the most extreme questline I’ve done in WoW.
A precursor hunt should be time-equivalent to grinding out 500g. I don’t know how one could implement that but I’m open for ideas.

The Moa Chick still sold for a decent amount because it was still a bit of a far trek to all of the different areas in the game necessary. But since you brought up the Zelda method of doing various game things, which is more compelling to you: searching the world for heart containers, or waiting for them to fall out of an enemy’s rear?
It should always be about a personal sense of accomplish more than how many of something exists among a player base. This is an issue I have with the mentality of many MMO players: Everything comes down to a virtual phallic substitute where everything on a character needs to be the most expensive, rarest, and as superior to everyone else’s as possible. How many chaos gloved, black-dyed obsidian armor wearing characters did you see in GW1? Many people I know didn’t even especially LIKE the armor designs, but went with them anyways solely because of this. But it shouldn’t be about that, but about what you as a player have accomplished.
So yes, give me a complex chain of events to follow to get me a legendary. Keep me engaged, and give me a sense that I overcame something more than my own boredom
