Some of us have a problem about race changing. To level up a new character to 80 isn’t hard. With XP boost it is about 2 weeks, or less.

The first problem is soul binding. I have 3 items which I don’t want to loose (one of them is not reobtainable). So when I delete my main character when those items in the bank, they should turn to account bound, then I wouldn’t need to miss them.

My second problem is crafting. I have almost all the crafting skills on 400, and one of them on 500. When some of crafting skills’ maximum level was raised to 500, maximizing has become harder than it was. Moreover there are some recipies which are not reobtainable. If ArenaNet could make the crafting system to account wide, the problem would be solved.

(and maybe the unlocked dye usage should be account wide)

Well, or you could just think twice before creating and maining a character you don’T want to have, that’s much easier and better solution.

Maybe there could be a race change feature, for a certain amount of gems, but a possibility to modify items from soulbound to account bound is not an option I guess.

I started my main more than a year ago. I knew ele will be my main prof but didn’t know that I won’t like the race I chose.

Well, I feel your pain on this of course, but still, a race change for gems is still a better option the rest proposed.
I have a Human Elementalist as a main, also my most favourite character so far, and I’m glad it’s human, because I just love JPs and kinda can’t imagine how would I do them with for example Charr, that’s painful for sure…

I have yet to try it, but with items if you just want just the skin people say you can transmute it to a blue or white item and it will lose it’s soulbound attribute that way you can throw it in the bank for another character. For the skin and stats people say there is a say to do it with a splitter and 2 transmute stones. Again I have yet to try it, this is what people say.

Crafting-wise I get why you wouldn’t just delete your main if it has a lvl 500. Personally I would just buy a new character slot and never play your old main, but leave it since it have the crafting. Overtime I might or might not level my crafting again on my new character. Recipe-wise some older ls recipe sheets such as the Sigils of Night are not that expensive on the bltp, major is dirt cheap and superior is like 1g I think.

I know race change would be the most optional for player, but Arenanet doesn’t want to break the personal story system. It’s all okay.
