30min refund for Token/Karma purchase
If you are too sleepy, or not cognizant enough to realize what you are purchasing, it would be foolish to give a refund.
I know no other game which even has a system similar, so I find it hard to believe one will be implemented in here. Sorry for your loss.
well you are wrong, world of warcraft has such a refund system (2 hrs if i remember)
not trying to compare the games, but i believe such a system will make it more user friendly and minimize such agony.
Hey look, another person who wants GW2 to be WoW
But no, I see what you are saying, its just more of the thing of ‘you bought it, you’re stuck with it’ I believe at least.
Being able to buy something, use it for a bit and see if you like it just doesn’t quite fit what —>I<-- think it should be like.
Obviously, just my opinion
thats why i said short period, even 10min is fine. MMOs share alot of similar features and using an example doesnt mean i want the game to change in any major way.
the short duration lets u correct a mistake, and not use it for any other purposes.
Yes it was my mistake in the 1st place, but this carelessness may have caused too much frustration which can be mitigated in future. dont you think?
I really don’t see the problem with this.
I’d like to see a feature like this. It could only help people. A suggestion to solving the problem Frvwfr presented would be to remove the ability to refund from an item after it is equipped.
any safeguard measures considered wuld be good since its just to correct a mistake
So that makes me the only that purchases items with hard earned cash only after a good nights rest? Just to avoid all the hassle of buying the wrong item.
Really, I see no point in adding this. That’s a decent amount of code to help with a problem that is purely the fault of you, the player.
So shines a good deed in a naughty world.

We all make mistakes from time to time, wether we are well rested or not mis-clicks happen. The idea that mis-click then costs you an awful lot of work with no hope of being able to swap back is just a strange pentalty that achieves nothing.
If you equip the item, or use it for transmutation that it is soul bound for life but if it has just been sat in your bag for 10 minutes what reason is there for not allowing the person to trade it back?
Not adding this seems daft.
Even a simple CONFIRMATION message box when you click an item for purchase would suffice to prevent errors/mistake. The game pops up a message when you are salvaging greens, it’s not hard to implement a message box when buying items.
Better yet, why let characters have the ability to buy gears they can’t use or cannot be used by their profession? If the toon buying is Guardian/Warrior, disable the light and medium gears, they can preview but they cant buy.
A refund system on the npc or even all karma npcs would be a good idea. Heartbreak due to accidents is very frustrating.
It’s quite simple.
You buy a token/karma item and you get 30 mintues to sell it back for the same amount, if you equip the item or the timer runs out your stuck with it. That’s how it is in Rift and i think WoW (but with 2 hrs on the timer).
It matters not if the player is at fault for the purchase or it’s Anets system that messed up, this sort of thing should really be put in as a safe guard considering how much some things cost.
Zarturo: Elemental – Desolation.
They need some sort of safe guard measure. Even a confirmation window would work.
For some of you above (who are telling people to bad so sad) we mere humans aren’t as perfect as you and we do make mistakes… we are sorry to have wasted your time with such insignificant grievances.
Great idea. Sometimes u can miss-click and then you are screwed.
Such option wouldnt affect the game much if at all, so no reason to say no.
Personally, I think it’s just oversight to allow for such a thing to even be possible. Those armors types should be disabled based on the armor-class you are playing. Why even allow it? Why are they even showing “Heavy” and “Light” armor types from vendors if the class you are playing only wears “Medium” armor?
Makes no sense whatsoever.
I think having a prompt for expensive items (whether it’s gold, karma, or tokens) would solve most of the issue.
Online games have a sensitivity to moving items into and out of player inventories. Allowing players to purchase then return token/karma items are where exploits can start. Not saying it’s impossible to prevent problems, just saying it’s a lot more risky than putting in a confirmation prompt.
He might start thinking he knows what’s right for you.

funny how so many ppl call us stupid or w/e for missclicking on an item, thats kittenish btw
I had the bad luck today to accidently double click on an exotic orrian helm from the arah token vendor, now iam kittened spent 180 tokens for an item i didnt even want…..
I hope this happens to you guys aswell, i mean the ones saying there should be no refund… it works perfectly fine in other games aswell.
I think there should be some sort of return option, obviously on a timer. My Razer mouse has been double clicking recently and I bought two items. Luckily I was only level 60 something at the time, but spending a extra 1k kind of sucked.
Oh wow I didn’t know they had a thread about this issue a few months ago. Use my newer thread so people don’t whine about thread necroing.

Many Charr in the game say it very clearly:
“No refunds.”
