3D View Clipping
Well that sucks, have you put a ticket in to support?

Hmmmmm. I did not know I could do that, but it makes sense. I will sir. I WILL.
And if there are any other 3D gamers (or would like to be 3D gamers) out there, please comment on this thread and submit support tickets too. This game was actually designed to be played in 3D, i have no idea why they would ruin it like this.
I didn’t even know you can play this game in 3D… I might have to set it up on my projector and try it, once this issue is fixed!
well go set it up and then view the following video:
Guild Wars In 3D Review
You can also view in cyan/red glasses too if you don’t have a 3D-capable display device, but view it in full 1080p 3D if you can.
it was taken before the 3D nerf and looks flippin awesome. also he mentions there’s some bugs in the 3D, but 99% of them had all been corrected.
I was actually in the process of creating my own thread here dedicated to 3D enthusiasts, pretty much have the whole thing already typed up in Word, a bunch of 3D screen shots and videos recorded too. Then someone close to me died about a month ago so I haven’t played too much lately, and now that I’m kinda back in the mood to game again to take my mind off things, I find anet ruins the 3D popout. Hopefully they’ll change it back.
OMG, now this is new to me I didn’t know that GW had this kind of amazing possibility :O
I was playing 3D with nVidia’s 3D play. Works great, but low res.
I found another app which enabled me to do over-under on 1080p, which was BEAUTIFUL.. except the 3d checkbox in options wouldn’t un-grey like it does when you use official 3D tools… so I had shadow layers sticking out here and there.
There aren’t enough 3d enthusiasts to be worth ArenaNET’s time, as far as I see.
If Mr. O had a big 3d screen in his office, it would probably be higher on their priority list.
It is, indeed, AMAZING, in 3D.
Well the good news is that Anet has responded to my ticket and is trying to help figure out what has happened. I’ll be sending them some “before and after” screencaps so they can see what I’m referring to. After going through footage of my previous 3D gameplay recordings, I’m starting to wonder if it’s the clipping plane or the “depth” setting that has been adjusted. Also thinking it’s possible that the setting is a local one on my own PC, although I don’t think it likely since I’ve never adjusted any of the 3D settings other than to just turn it on. But the fact that Anet is looking into it is awesome regardless, since Allisa is right, there aren’t many of us 3D enthusiasts right now. I’m hoping games like GW2 and the lower prices of 3D monitors will help change that.
ok UPDATE: i apparently tricked myself.
While i was troubleshooting and making videos to record the “before” and “after” effects for anet techs to look at – I happened to change the depth setting in the nvidia control panel and all of a sudden the 3D popout and depth looked exactly like it used to. I didn’t consider the probem being on my end a possibility cuz i don’t ever remember changing the setting to something other than “default”, and it always said it was set to “default” every time i opened the control panel, so i logically assumed it was never anything other than “default”. Apparently not tho, apparently not. Don’t know if a driver update might’ve changed the settings or if my memory is swiss cheese, but after conducting a few more tests it is definitely just my settings that were changed.
Color my face embarassed! lol
So all is good, my bad anet.
