It doesn’t have to be living story. It can be anything though.
mine are:
1. New elite skill per profession.
2. New full exploration maps and maybe new races with them? (tengu)
3. Revamped Pet management.( general and skils/traits)
4. More waypoints in Orr plus hearts. (or less contested waypoints)
5. New full dungeons. Story + 3-4 exp modes.
Stop with the nonsense of Scarlet and start opening up more places of the map. I want to see the Crystal Desert, Fire Islands, Isles of Janthir, etc!
I agree with the op a lot here. I would love to see 8 new elite skills, several new maps, a couple more playable races, an AI overhaul, Asuran portals in Orr, and a few more dungeons in the next patch, which is in early/mid January. Also, at this break-neck pace, I don’t see why GW3 shouldn’t be ready to hit the shelves by early July, so we should start looking forward to that as well.
I’d like to see bug fixing/polishing first before coming with new content, this comes from a wvw point of view where some ole bugs/glitch spots are still around after 1.5year almost

1) Ranger pet is now optional. Press F1 to toggle attack/return. F2 to trigger its unique skill, F3 to swap pets, F4 to perma-stow and get a 35% damage increase to weapon skills and traps.
2) Ele base HP is increased to match Ranger/Mesmer. Attunement cooldown is reduced to 10s, with an absolute minimum of 7s with 30 in Arcana.
3) Ranger 1H sword has the leaps removed from its auto-attack, so that dodging can actually WORK for the one decent damage weapon the Ranger has.
4) Make the entire UI adjustable the way it was in GW1. Let me move/resize/remove elements as I desire. I want to play the game, not the UI.
5) Remove the AoE cap from offensive skills.

They have capped AoE to 5 targets just to lower skilllag in massive battles
A lot of things here would be nice.
But I disagree with GW3 being soon. I highly doubt there will be NO expansion packs for GW2 at all. GW1 made 7 years and it is STILL going. GW2 is hitting 2 years this August and no expansion packs I think they want this game to hit that same life time and will time Expansion packs out to do so.
Another thing I thought up for the Living Story. Can we have the next series be about the Elder Dragons?
Mine could potentially be highly controversial….here goes nothing:
1. Add more quests. Perhaps up to 50, and make the last 10 or so super hard to near impossible, and make it scale so if more people join the instance it’s still insane. At the end, you’d get one account bound precursor. (obviously, this could still have an effect on the market, but hey, not as much as if they were made sell-able)
2. Make it so you can change ascended stats every 3 months. It takes so long to just be able to craft them, and if you mess up or later decide to change your build, you’re stuck with that armor/weapons. 3 months is a pretty long time to wait, so it wouldn’t really be “unfair”.
3. Get rid of Dhuumfire for the necro. Change it, discard it, I don’t care. Other professions regard it as OP, as do I. Plus, IMO, it doesn’t really fit in the spite (power) line.
4. Make ascended trinkets craftable. We can craft weps/armor…why not trinkets? Ok, well, maybe because currently you have to buy w/ laurels/commendations or obtain them from fotm. But it would still be cool.
5. Alter condition (mainly bleed) cap. Notice I said alter. Obviously, an unlimited bleed cap could prove chaotic. But maybe, for example, convert the condition damage to direct damage while fighting champs.
To recap, I think all of these could/should be implemented in the near future, but I obviously would not expect number 1. to occur in the next patch.
1. new elite skills, some thing useful than what we have now. I would even use any of support skills there instead what we have as elite skills now.
2. more weapons skills per weapon
3. more weapon combinations
4. better epic battles
5. another way to get ascended gear than through crafting. I do not not mean rings and trinkets, i do mean actual weapons and armor.
1.) Expanding Profession mechanic that swaps your 2ndary Weapon set into new skills, F5-F8, able to toggle it on and off and regain your 2ndary Weapon set.
2.) Chooses and Consequences: you can choose either to Help someone, or harm them,for example, you can choose to start hunting NPC’s for fun, but you might start getting hunted yourself.
3.)Make all Zones Level 80, (with the Option to go to the regular zone or the lvl 80 version) sort of a Hard mode, unlock after you complete your personal story. Dungeons in Hard mode, allows up to 8 players, making them into Raids.
4.)Guild Halls, Guild Alliances & Daily Quest: similar to Zaishen Quest from GW1, Guild Halls will have want ads for various task, from solo (Instances) to those needing a large group. Earn Guild Influence, ally guild gets 1/3rd the influence if not apart of quest.
5.)you as a character Killing Scarlet with a Base ball bat, tired of her, J/k (sort of…) Move the Story On already these Living story are becoming a real lack luster.
5b.) sorry after number 4, I was running out of Ideas. and I really hate Scarlet, the dang Present Bomb she sent me was not funny
1. Make Dyes account bound so that every character in your account can access them.
2. In-game barbershop in major cities to change your hairstyles for 10 or 25 silver to replace Self Style Hair Kits. (I don’t mind the Permanent version that you carry around)
3. Tengu as a new playable race. Which means you have to open up the Dominion of Winds. Please make it within this year or the next.
4. New playable instruments. I really loved the Marriner’s Horn and Flute, and I want to get a chance to play other potential instruments like drums, guitars, or lutes, and harps. (P.S. make the Unbreakable Choir Bell available in the Gem Store, not just the Trading Post)
5. Add capes. I miss those capes. XD
1) Housing inclusive new Housing related Crafting Jobs
2) Mounts and other alternative Transport Systems like craftable Ships/Air Ships and the game making alot more use also of Asura Gates or somethign cool and conservative, like Steampunk Trains. Remove all Waypoints and replace them with Teleportation Runestones as consumeables, that have to be bought and can teleport you to everywhere based on a Coordination System
3) Trait System Redesign splitting them into Traits, Abilities and Talents
4) New and Old Weapons added to the Classes, new ones being Great Axes, Halberds, Whips, Quarterstaffs and Claws for now first
5) Tengus as playable Race and the Dominion of the Wind becoming a new explorable Map + their Home Town
Just my current dream Top 5 of wanted features/improvements.
1) Fix skills and traits for all classes
2) Increase number of weapons (or add new ones) for each class
3) New class and/or race
4) New Dungeons, Events and explorable areas
5) shake up WvW – maybe have a map wide change like the dragons awaking sort of affect the mp with the whole map changing in appearance, towers disappearing and being replaced in new areas and such
6) Dragons/huge NPC rages through the map every once in a while destroying towers and such changing up how you do things.
1) Better GPU/CPU optimization
2) Expansion
3) 3rd Soldier profession
4) Crafting changes (3 soft wood for planks, 50 bolts of silk for Damask)
5) More weapons for each class (Wheres my hammer Engineer!?)

It would turn into a disappointment, but still:
1 New areas, real new areas not huge flops like Southsun.
2 Decent town clothing.
3 Real balance between professions.

5 Separate PVP from PvE for good.

6: Better 5-80 fine/masterwork armor styles (had to throw this in, they’ve bugged me since day one)
Maybe Scarlet’s death should be number one, I am really sick of her. I was sick of her after the Aetherblades. The toxic events just made me REALLY sick of her. I get you guys like your Sylvari creations and wanted a baddie from them to give there lore more of a footing (since they have only existed 26 years now), but kill her off already. Don’t forget we still have at least four elder dragons to take care of still.

1: Option use an Elite Skill or not. For some professions I’d be better off without using an elite (mainly my Engineer, I’d rather use Elixir B or something other than Mistfire Wolf) or make Elite skills more Elite
2: New utilities and alternative weapon skills
3: Split PvE/PvP. You can not balance one with the other. They are 2 completely different things

one thing that would ruin everything: mounts and teleportation stones, this would be horrible, every new player would have a horrible time with these, waypoints work fine, and if they could teleport you anywhere there would be people teleporting past enemies and such so they dont have to fight them
everything else, great new race, more map, more weapons, sounds pretty cool, but alot of work for one patch
some things i would really like to see:
1). more weapons, such as two handed axes, marksman rifles, shotguns (they had versions of them in older times), new sword (one almost like a ninja’s sword), and spears being able to be used out of the water
2). new professions, like ninjas, a 3rd soldier class, marksman, and a class or two that is not geared towards DPS, more towards helping other players or a more defensive class, and light soldiers, almost like using the same weapons as warriors but lighter armor and faster, and a profession that relies heavily on pets
3). make events harder when there is a zerg around or quests harder for parties. solo quests can sometimes be difficult, but when you party/zerg it becomes overly easy
4). rebalance merchants, why would you sell something at a merchant if you could sell it for a lot more at a black lion trading post
5). add more cave systems and more mountains? as in add more caves sort of like bandihunt cavern in queensdale but make them larger and in higher level areas and stick a champion enemy at the bottom, and add more mountainous areas, it would be interesting to see mountains you can climb and have events and champions at the top of mountains (expand the map a little to accommodate mountains ? :P)

i swear i’ve seen you post this on like 20 different threads and it is a terrible idea and won’t happen. give it up. getting rid of one profession’s ‘profession mechanic’ is a silly notion. how bout we get rid of shatters and give mesmers random dazes, confusions, extra damage, and invincibility? why not get rid of death shroud and just add 20k health to necros base health pool? why? becuase its rediculous is why. if you can’t play a ranger with their pet effectively then choose another profession. the pet has commands and is very useful and to some extent op in a lot of pvp situations. taking out a profession mechanic and adding a flat +35% damage buff is not the answer to any ranger fixes. learn to use your profession. there are plenty of threads and guides to how to use ranger/pet effectively if you want to give google a shot or i happen to own dungeons all over the place with my ranger and can offer plenty of advice with how to be effective with your pet. having a source of permanent ‘passive’ damage has to have some drawbacks and it happens to be micro managing your pet and using skills/commands to keep them in the fight and effective.

I know none of these will ever happen but…
1. Dyeable Weapons
2. Legendary Dyes (particle effects/animations/sparkles/glow etc.)
3. Ability to pick up loot in WvW when you’re dead (an ‘unclaimed loot’ interface would pop up)
4. Skin locker
5. Ability to unlock the whole world map for your alts if you have already unlocked the world map
1. Healing Power as a utility food. (The one with a wrench next to it)
2. Trait template saving option.
3. Improved commander and squad options. (Seriously why the kitten even join a squad)
4. New heavy class.
5. General get your kitten together and make GvG maps. Seriously, no one cares about slow tPvP which is boring as hell to watch, so stop trying to get it into eSports.
#1: Defiant no longer reduces the duration of vulnerability and weakness.
#2: enemies with primarily ranged attacks will now attempt to kite players instead of just standing still.
#3: all bosses now have a heal skill on a minute long cooldown that they use at 1/4th health.
#4: Defiant stacks will now decay over time.
#5: Rebalancing for skills for all classes.
I think they need to readdress Orr in particular sometime in the future. All of these acquisition and defend dynamic events fall flat in this zone since that is all there is to do and since South Sun and Fractals, they’ve fallen out of use. Like Tequatl. I’ll give the benefit of the doubt in saying activity varies between servers but right now this makes me think back to Bane Raids in Tabula Rasa. While it took some effort to defend outposts and fortresses, Ally NPCs still had the capability to take back said outposts and fortresses in the raid to follow after word.
Here we got nothing, ally NPCs die and reinforcements are either little or none at all. Ally NPCs should have considerable push, mirroring enemy push-capability.
#1. Left and right mouse button utility options. Will probably have to implement camera changes for this.
#2. Minor UI customization options.
#3. Agree with Pip2041 above: “MORE VIABLE BUILDS THAN DPS ONLY.”
#4. More challenging PVE.
#5. Make auto-attacking more special/smoother attack animations.

You are only partwise correct… thats why I want a coordination system with a 3 word pattern coordinates based on words similar like in the .hack-games, which can teleport us only to specific points, if the used coordinates are correct for your chosen destination point.
Mounts ruin nothing, thats total bullcrap of you, they just add to the game flavor, they are just a simple prestige thing and gives the player something to collect, Anet somethign to make profit with and would be a simply way to give players an alternative way for travelign faster than normal to somewhere, without having to permanently rely on those dumb waypoints that are made only for lazy people.
I’ve suggested Teleportation Stones basically, bevcause they would be a much better solution that isn’t an immersion breaker, than seeing everytime you use a Wp only one loadign screen after another.
Much nicer would it be, if you see a character animation, how your character uses a kind of teleportation technique/magic whatever and then how your character really teleports from A to B.
That would be awesoem and not immersion breaking and absolutely not impossible to let the game load in the background its data, while the game lets us see in the meantime the teleportation process animation how our character warps from A to B in some kind of Slipstream Animation or so … have you never seen films/series like Stargate or Andromeda or other science fiction stuff??
Asura Gates are basically just inspired by Stargate… they even look like 90% the same, only that their wurm holes have an other color and that the Asura Gates are missing the chevrons at the gate that are used to program the gates destination point by COORDINATES.
Waypoints are only fine for all the lazy players, thats the silly truth, but GW2 consists not only out of lazy players. GW2 has also many players that seek for prestige, that want to have travel systems in this game, which aren’t immersion breaking or so to say, simply are more “conservative and classical”, just out of the reason, because they are just so much more FUN and thats the real thing, that counts for games – that they make for as many people as possible as much fun as possible and not just only for the lazy people …
PS: but what you are right at it, I should have not written “everywhere”, thats my fault Replace it with “basically everywhere, where 3-word coordinates can bring you to”

4. Total makeover kits can be used to change your running animation.

They changed the running animation? When did this happen? According to you it was two months ago? I played at the start, took several months off, but then started again more than two months ago and didn’t notice a change. If anything I think they should change how females hold the greatsword/hammer. I always thought them holding it down like that made them look weaker than their male counterparts, but that may just be my opinion.
I do agree it’d be a cool addition to their customization, but not likely to be implemented.

Not so much next patch, but in the future:
1) A total separation of PvE and PvP class balancing. Elementalists are currently useless in PvE whilst they can be butchered by a couple of low-level bandits. It never used to be like this in the beta days.
2) The ability to purchase the same town clothes that the citizens of your respective racial cities wear from an NPC – For gold, not gems.
3) Synced day/night cycles between map areas – if it’s dark in Divinity’s Reach, it should also be dark everywhere else at the same time.
4) Dynamic weather.
5) Toggleable visibility on most armour pieces, i.e. boots and chest. Norn have tattoo options that aren’t visible behind armour, and Sylvari have all that bioluminescence that you can’t see either.

Well, do you have any idea how cool it would be if the mesmer elite “Polymorph Moa” was changed to an AoE? Turning zergs into moas would make my day.
On a more serious note,
1. I’d like to see a great deal more diverse weapon and armour skins.
2. I’d also like much more of the map to be available.
3. PvE loot is worthless…they could do something about that.
4. More maps for PvP and WvW, as well as different objectives to WvW.
5. More professions would be great, it won’t happen but…it’d be cool.
Meanwhile I would eSh1t in my ePants on stepping at a Nomad mobile-village in Crystal Desert, or looking around in the Canthan Ghetto, I would even like to have some new kind of selfbuff skirmisher Elite at my Ranger and even to design my own pets.
Dungeon Revamps are comming tho… TA wasn’t a bad start as a prototype.

1. Less power to conditions, I find them to be completely 100% (not arguable) op (to clarify, don’t nerf them COMPLETELY, just don’t let them be the undefeatable damage)

srry but I need a 6. give cultural armor ascended stats. it already costs so much money why not make it worth paying for?

5. open up ability to climb mountains and more caves and such, only after reaching level 60-70 though, and having to buy mountaineering upgrade, costing maybe 100 or 200 gold coins to buy, but a permanent, soulbound upgrade allowing you to climb mountains, not buildings or anything man made, but all natural formations you cannot walk up
