Guild Wars 2

I am wondering what the logic behind giving people multiple versions of the same mini for their birthdays. Now I have six, and in a few months I’ll have 2 more.

Imagine if you were a kid, you have a birthday party, you invite 15 friends, and each of them brings you the same toy. Make any sense?

I’m hoping we can toilet them for something cooler.

Which is exactly why in GW1 the only way to get mini’s was to open your birthday present.. which each year contained a new set of around 30~ pets or so.

This made each one extra valuable since it was limited to that birthday only.

I knew we’d end up with account bound pets for birthdays after the release of these set 1 and 2 mini’s.. taken the whole shine of birthday’s in guild wars for me.

Well I’m just saying, it almost seems like it’s just a mini that was destined to be an Account Birthday Present. For when your account turns one, you’d get one of each item. Also the Queen just seems to simply be a mini because of the current Living Story…I guess people who get theirs in a few months, won’t care at all about the Queen. Which also makes it seem like it’s a mini that should have been rewarded with the Living Story.

The XP scrolls are nice, it boosted my 3 alts i hadn’t had time to really play or level. So now they are 20, which is nice. But now I still have 4 more without any use, and then 2 more on their way. I guess if they ever add a new profession/race, I’ll have a use for 1 more, but chances are with a new race/profession would come a new low level area that I’d actually want to play and not skip because I would want to experience the area and learn the new profession.

I just think the birthday presents need to be rethunk

let us use mini balths and Jennah in the MF for a chance at a account bound mini of our choice in the game special or living story related !? or turn them into laurals or tokens for other items maybe Fused weapons but even better just tossing the idea out there Frosted weapons you know like fused look but with ice? idk kinda sad you can not do much with them other then toss them onto a pile of others like it though

I’m pretty sure you mean corrupted weapons.

I guess beggars can be choosers.

I actually filled my character slots within the first week of launch thinking/hoping the gifts would be random minis from the first set, like in guild was 1.

When I realized it was Queen Jennah for every character, I checked if I could put the mini in the Mystic Forge and, unfortunately, it does not work.

And here I thought the birthday gifts would help with my mini collection…

It would have been nice if the first character to receive a gift got the Queen mini and others got a random one from the 1st set.

There are many more threats about it but in short:
- Multiple minis insted of giving 1 form 2nd pack is a fail…
- Giving scroll of expieniece after 1 year when most peoples had already leveled their alts is only a little bit lesser fail than queen minis
- Booster is on, but having that as only usefull item in my box makes me feel dissapointed
