I have put this idea to people in game , half expecting to be laughed at but everyone seemed to think great idea so over to the gw2 forums for your valued opinions.

Introducing The Holy Chest , but this is no ordinary chest…..

Here is how it works -

Once a day in a completely random location The Holy Chest will appear. The chest only appears for 20 minutes , and can only be used by the lucky player who stumbles upon it. In the holy chest however is a precursor.

It would not effect the market and more people would be playing hoping to stumble upon it .

Your thoughts people ?

maybe the holy chest has been in this game the entire time, but no one has been lucky enough to actually find it and SirusDibley is a pen name of one of the dev’s trying to give us hints /end conspiracy theory

Make it a unique champion monster and I’m sold.

I like both ideas. A random really awesome chest, and a very rare monster with awesome drops.

So how would you know if someone stumbled upon it instead of being told in chat where the chest is and arriving there before the 20 min are up?

Terrible idea.Botters go teleport allover the place to find these chests,and who will get the chest each day ? You guessed it right,the botter ! And what will happen when they all start selling them on the blc ? … you know it already.

Bots track where it is, swarm over monster//chest. They get it before players can, get their masters richer. Not gonna work unless Anet gets rid of bots once and for all, and that’s not going to happen.

To be honest, its been ages since I’ve seen any of the infamous bot-trains that used to plague various PVE zones. I just don’t see them any more. And tracking down these chests and monsters would be no easier to bots, than it would be to regular players. If no one knows where these things will spawn next, then there is no way for bots to farm them.

On top of that, its also a matter of how often these things would spawn. If they don’t spawn very often at all, then they are essentially not viable for bot-farming in the slightest.

What will happen is the ridiculous price money grubbing slobs ask for on the precursors will drop substantially. It happened in DAoC and should happen here…

I remember when Darkspire items were incredibly priced because of these kitten players wanting to rip off their “realm-mates” because they felt entitled to that right. It was LAWL-fest when the farmers came in and you could by an entire set of DS gear for around 9 plat! It made the game much more enjoyable for the casual player, myself included in that lot.
