Level 80 Necromancer!
As everyone (especially level 80s) is well aware of, guesting and subsequent overflow issues and lag is a big issue right now. Well, here’s my thought on how it could be solved or reformed or more fair for certain people. This thread is not for complaining about this issue (I’m only using my complaining as an example).
Say a server can only hold about 30 people ikittenone like Frostgourge (this is just a random number, not exact). 25 are “natives” of the server and 5 are guests. Say that a 26th “native” shows up, 1 guest is taken to overflow. However, if there are 35 natives in that zone, 5 are taken to overflow with all the guests. Natives are always the first to re-join the server population after people start dispersing (yea, call me a nativist or unfair to guests if you will).
To be fair with guests, have both main and overflow spawn timers in sync. I’ve had problems in overflow (on my native server) where I’ve been waiting for, say, The Shatterer for about 20 mins and the pre-event just started and I’m booted to overflow which the pre-event isn’t even close to beginning. I just think it’d be more fair for everyone, especially guests (under my solution) if spawn timers were actually in sync.
Lag during a Tequatl fight got so bad one time, that my game crashed. I rushed to get back so that I could get 1 more hit in so that I could get the chest, but alas, I was put in overflow where there was no dragon to speak of. Just a room full of complaining people.
TL;DR: Boot guests to overflow, not “natives” (unless there are too many “natives”).
