A couple (realistic) suggestions to improve gameplay
All three of your suggestions are supported by me. Although player trading could lead to tons of scamming.
I have a possible idea for the contracting thought. It’s a really good idea btw
It would be an interface. You pull up the interface and are giving the option to choose a crafting profession.
You are then provided with drop down menus to customize the recipe you are looking for. So if you want a Pillaging iron pistol you would choose, Huntsman, Pistol, Iron, Pillaging.
It then comes up with a menu of all the required pieces needed, and all the ingredients needed for each piece. You drag the materials onto the appropriate icon, kind of like the mystic forge except with faded icons, and number indicators.
The interface then takes these materials and puts the listing into the Crafting Queue.
A huntsman goes to the huntsman station and opens the queue. Finds this order, selects it, and is then brought into a window with the recipes necessary for the item, all items are then placed directly into the crafting contract window. The crafter never gets actual ownership of them.
If the crafter does not complete it, the pieces made and remaining materials are put back into the queue for someone else to finish. Or they can choose to finish it, at which point the item is mailed/sent to the BLTC recieving area.
I like how in WoW you could link your profession in the chat bar so people can tell you weren’t scamming them, and it also told you what they had to make, and how much mats is needed. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.
We may not have Profession linking yet, but at least we can link recipes. If you see someone asking for work you should ask him to link the recipe instead of asking him for the mats needed.
GUILD HOUSE!!!!!!
2. Contracts for jobs for crafting professions
- It is very hard to tell who is legitimate and who is not. You read in chat “Lvl 400 jeweler looking for work just provide the mats” and you have no idea if the person will take your 1 gold worth of mats and scam you or anything.
- I am not quite sure how you would go about implementing this, but it could be a great economical aspect of GW2. An alternate source of income to the normal grinds. You could say how much they will be paid (if any) when they complete the work. They cannot sell or destroy your mats and can only use them to make what you agreed to.
Again not sure if you would want to make this a specific thing for only level 400 in a craft or any level
(Side note: player to player trading (outside trading post) which i am sure has been posted (everywhere) before, but come on mail system to sell a dye to my guildy?)
Love this game; keep up the good work ANET
