Hello everyone,
Two days ago I was busy getting supplies for my new Draconic Armourset. I was running around in Orr, you know, re-killing undead, when I came across a Karma Merchant who sold pieces of armour; gloves and gauntlets, I believe. By now I can almost hear your mind asking: “Why the heck should I care about you talking to one of like fivehundred Karma Merchants, Escildan?! I’ve got better things to do, darn it!”
Well, because this merchant gave me an idea for fun little addition to the game. You see, most Karma Merchants sell equipment with quotes from them in it. An Aqua Breather you buy from a Quaggan, for example, ever so fittingly quotes: “ooooOOOoooo”.
My idea is this: allow ingame crafters to place a similar quote on their Masterwork, Rare and Exotic products. Use profanity filters to keep crafters from using insulting/offensive language in their quotes and keep everything about gear the way it is right now. Every “powerful” piece of armour you craft could then have a bit of uniqueness and recognition in it, even (or maybe especially) when you sell it.
“Signing” your own armour should, of course, be optional. Something you, as the item’s crafter, can do by selecting to do so by, say, right-clicking on the item before it’s soulbound/out of your inventory.
I would love some feedback on this. What do you guys think? Is the risk of people writing isanity/profanity on their items too great?
Smile! It’ll brighten my day at least.
