The most effecient way to get what you want is zerg running champs in frostgorge, wvw, or queensdale. If you want tier 1 materials for example, killing foes that drop tier 1 materials is a very slow method of acquiring them, when you can buy them from the trade post cheap.
You want Charged Lodestones? you’re not going to get them by killing anything, spend a year, and you might get 1. So you buy them instead.
Every possible objective you may think you want to accomplish can be done easier by buying it, than killing a foe, or doing a renowned heart, or doing a personal story. Even dungeons are only benefitial as a means to make coin to buy what you actually are seeking. Not everyone has the time to ‘farm’ dungeons.
So all the average player is left with is running a champ zerg. Even the Daily, Monthly achievements are designed to encourage you to run the Champ Zergs.
Personally I have between 250-400 unspent skill points, depending on which charactor I am playing. So why do I need to recieve xp as a reward?
What would I spend karma on? I have max armor, so why do I want karma as a reward? Laurals were interesting for a bit, until I got bored of grinding daily achievements. Over 11,000 achievment points, those people above 15k are nuts!
So do I play this game for fun, or to accumulate coin? Coin is an objective, although it means…(what is the definition of insanity?) doing the same thing repeatedly expecting a better result. (I’ll get a precursor this time for sure!)
What is fun? I think it is haveing a objective that takes a thought process, that takes placing skills on my bar to resolve that objective. What in this game entails that? Certainly not running with zergs. Certainly not anything in PVE. So now my ‘goal’ is to get 250 stacks of every material. which means… I run champ zergs to get the coin to buy them off of the trade post. We have this big open beautiful world, but no reason to go there. PVE what PVE?… we have ZergVE
