" A last log in time for guild members in roster "
it has been mentioned a thousand time but it should be mentioned a thousand and one times because it is needed that badly!!!

The way we’ve got rid of inactive players is make a topic on your forums, an activity check and give it two weeks for people to respond with their in-game contact name and most played character name (Heavily advertising the topic of course).
Once that deadline has past make a list of all guild members (spreadsheet will help a lot), check everyone whose replied from the list or who you know is active and put a check behind their name.
Then simply sort the column so those without a check are easy to see and start kicking them out. Make sure to leave a message to explain that if they respond within two weeks they can still return to the guild in case they’ve been kicked by mistake. But after that time they’d have to re-apply if they want to join again (or you can choose to deny them access permenantly).
We’ve kicked 50 people that way and only two have responded so far so, it’s a good clean up!
But yes it’s a bit time consuming and annoying to the members, I most definitely agree there needs to be a better system we shouldn’t have to waste so much time making spreadsheets and what not to kick inactive players it’s ridiculous.

why would anet promote such a feature when they said they want people to be able to take breaks without any punishment

Because if people don’t play the game it just clogs up the community with inactive players. Guilds want active players because it’s healthier for the community.
Sure the inactive players make the number nice and big but what point is there in that other than to boast about it? I rather have a good community than boast about a 500 member list of which 480 are inactive.
It’s not about punishment, it’s about doing what’s best for your community. I’ve seen many guilds where loads of members are inactive and they get a bad reputation for it (rightfully so). Guilds aren’t storage houses for accounts who haven’t played in months.

Ah right I don’t see how that punishes the player as they’re not even playing. It just punishes the guilds for trying to get a good community going which is better for players who are playing.
I feel like guilds aren’t getting as much support as they should. The guild vault setup is dreadful, if any thieves or hackers steal from it you won’t get it returned so the vault has to be permanently closed which defeats the purpose entirely.
There’s no way to see how much % someone has been representing the guild. Sure it’s a nice concept the guild representation thing but please let us see how much people represent, just a percentage will do if you hover over their name.
The guild armour looks dreadful, it’s just plain ugly for the most part. The only nice things are the backpacks, the rifles and shields. The rest is really bland and plain looking.
None of the really cool things promised will happen any time soon such as guild halls. The only fun thing for guilds to spend influence on is the guild banquet which is mediocre at best. We still can’t do keg brawl tournaments either because of the no party’s and party match-ups being allowed.
But yes most annoyingly is the inactivity. There’s no way to see who was last logged on and how long ago it was. Resorting to lots of unnecessary work for guild leaders like we don’t have enough time wasted with all the things mentioned above.
My guild has so much influence now that we can’t even spend it all fast enough either.

Yep, would love to see this.. having to jump through extra hoops to see who is and isn’t active isn’t my idea of a fun way to spend my free time :-/
Would also like to see a notification in chat when people log in and out and what level they are/class.
This is 100% needed … really , atm we are kicking both active and inactive , this would solve the problem.
I soooo badly want this for my guild. I have bunch of inactive members, at least I think I do, for all I know they could be logging in when I’m not logged in.
Come on ANet, just give us what we want. Now.
I guess their egos might feel insulted if they actually shed light on the growing number of inactives in their game…
TBH it will probably be a while before they decide to improve the ‘Guild’ features of the game.
