This is just a simple request from a fan and player for the Arenanet team. Please in future content consider expanding the Ranger classes tameable pet list. Those of us who love this class and love nothing more than exploring this vast game world in search of new and exotic companions would be forever grateful. Thank you for your time and attention.

Anet has higher priorities than giving Ranger anything. You should know that.

After Prophecies, ANet expanded the Ranger’s possible pets in Factions, NF, and EotN. They even went so far as to add the Zaishen Menagerie, which was awesome. The Rainbow Phoenix was even added as a perk to the GWAMM title.

Pet collecting is one of my favorite aspects of the Ranger class, so I hope they do the same types of things in GW2.

Or at least using babies as feed for Ranger pets.

Griffons
Skale/Skelk
Raptors
Windriders
Karka (ultimate ranged pet)

Oh, I know the feeling. One of my best friends is an engie and I have to do complicated therapy on him to keep him held together at the end of the patch. We’re on or swimming around the same boat.

I don’t think it’s actually necessary to ask. This is a thing already. When Southsun Shore was introduced so was a new pet for rangers. It seems pretty clear that they intend to expand our menagerie as they also expand the game.

I would appreciate new categories, though, like Leo. G suggested.

Ranger are going to get pets, as soon as they fix the kitten AI of them!

Thanks to those contributing to the discussion, I would agree that they will add more with future content but I also don’t think it can possibly hurt to ask or talk about it as that is what the forums are for. Just trying to do my part to hopefully move it up on the priority list.

As far as eating babies goes, I’m glad to see a couple that are familiar with Swift, he’s one of my favorite satirists. Although it’s not really applicable since we don’t have to feed our pets anything anyway. Also is reference to Rangers/Engineers/Thieves. I would really like some medium armor that doesn’t make my male avatar appear to be wearing a skirt from behind. That’s all I have Anet… beautiful game and tons of fun

Also I think Leo G’s approach is excellent. It could be helpful in a tangible way to discuss desired tameable pets. I’m just going to throw a couple out that I would enjoy and I think would be original to this game or at least have not been done in a fantasy mmo to my knowledge.

-frill-necked lizard (the frill could function as a taunt…. maybe even bi-pedal)
-kangaroo/wallabyish (Rocko’s modern life… Oh yeah!)
-Mantis
-Penguin (the ultimate amphibuous pet )
-Then of course just new skins for existing classes
