A /resign command
+1 agree
This is a story of a filler so I can have this post go through FILLER
Agreed, as long as It can not be used while in combat
Reason: would be abused heavily if allowed during combat to prevent death penalties and losing armor.

Other games have an unstuck ability that moves your character back a bit to get it unstuck. You just type in /stuck and the game mechanic works like a charm.
I do not understand why GW2 does not have a similar in game command to help players out who get stuck in odd places.

I am not sure about other games, but in GW2 through exploration it is quite possible to get yourself in situations where a /stuck mechanic would not work. I know several areas where I get stuck (can not more out of the area) but can freely move around within the area.

Problem is when you are stuck in some “large” object that was recently destroyed, aka stuck in geometry, you aren’t “Stuck” so a /stuck command doesn’t work. You can move freely inside the space previously occupied by the object, you can use your skills etc you aren’t “stuck” in a meaningful way, some objects, like that Dredge turret or the big Inquest golem in Mount Maelstrom have huge hit boxes that for some obscure reason don’t disappear when they die, or at least they should “push” the player out when they die/destroyed so the player isn’t stuck inside
Simple solution to prevent the described abuse of using it in combat – death penalty and armor damage, would be that if you use /resign, you do suffer those things.
As such, you would only use it in real bad circumstances. I’ve been in more than one fractal were someone died in an inaccessible area, and only solution was for all the other players to get killed – in which a /resign would have been much faster than waiting for the monsters to finish the players off.
I like this suggestion but I think /resign wouldn’t be the right command for it. It kind of makes it sound like the party is quitting.
Maybe /checkpoint would work better
Maybe /suicide, unless that was considered not appropriate for some reason.

There is that exact command in GW2 too…
And I’ve used it.
And it has worked.
People who can’t tend to call the opponent troll, scream something utterly incomprehensible
and finally result to personal insults.
in GW1 you had a /resign command that the whole party had to type in, once everyone put in the command, the party would resign and you could release back to a town. Same feature needs to be here, it was foolproof. If they’re worried about abuse of it during combat, make it so it can’t work in-combat. Problem solved.
~Surrender fiend and you will get an easy death
~I could promise you the same…but it would be a lie…
