A "sprint" Action
Cause there are already skills that allow you to sprint.
Occam Pi (Ele), Acaena Elongata (Warrior), Finja Salversdotir (Ranger),
Bytestream (Engineer), Vim Whitespace (Thief)
Every class has some sort of unique ability that gives them haste. I could be wrong, but I have yet seen any class say they don’t have haste ability or some sort of shortcut movement across plane A to plane B. The gameplay is already complex as it is. Adding a stamina bar will only ruin that purpose and hinder gameplay.
it wouldnt hinder gameplay if you make it a ‘’out of combat’’ thing
it wouldnt hinder gameplay if you make it a ‘’out of combat’’ thing
But it would have a noticeable effect on World PvP.

the stamina bar is that i am talking about is the dodge bar. the one above your health globe. also, if it would ruin some aspects of WvW, the why not apply it only on PvE?
On the technical aspect, what button would we press for sprint that would separate dodge? Wouldn’t it be already too much binds? Also why limit that option. If it breaks WvW then it’s not needed in PvE. We already have waypoints. If that was the case, then sPvP and PvE would have separate skill scaling in damage and ability already.
But I don’t want to shut you down. Your idea is great for maybe leveling to 80 perhaps.

altho i forgot about that, you can easly make it to be desabled for WvWvW
maybe sprinting can be twice abd hold the autorun key. also, waypoints cost money. it isn’t much to destroy the gameplay, right?
You could also easily pass by areas crowded with mobs. I feel I’m fast enough by now, we’re already running in the game as long as we don’t press the walk key and have our temporary sprint skills like swiftness and many waypoints. Being able to sprint would add more complexity, change balancing in some zones and may generally encourage an “ah well, that guy needs help but I’ll just sprint by” behaviour. Same reason we don’t have mounts in GW2.
