So i want to buy the grinning holloween shield but im worried aegis will made it look stupid since it’s for my gaurdian.

For pvping why is aegis shown anyways, for classes like warrior that can have an unblockable attack doesn’t this spoil the purpose of aegis. No one is going to use thier best attack while an opponent is showing aegis, they will use a plain attack to remove it and then use their best. Kinda defeats the purpose i think.

Look wise, it’s cool when i have a greatsword of staff equipped, but using a shield it doesn’t look right wearing 2 overlapping shields on same arm.

I’d like to suggest a way to hide it, to improve its effectiveness. Dont care about the buff icon really, it’s the invisible blue shield i’d like to hide.

purpose of aegis is to block attack, not being unnoticeable, thats why you can use your virtue to gain aegis imediately for you and your alies, so you can block attack you want to block, auto aegis is just a passive bonus

Blocking the attack you want is only usable by a very slow swinging attack like an etten. Normal players attacks arn’t this slow, so how is blocking the next the attack be useful if it’s noticable? It will only mitigate a crap attack since no wants to waist a skill attacking aegis, and that all hardly useful in pvp.

I’m sure your right they wouldn’t have made the blue shield if they didn’t want it to be noticable, but i find it’s usefullness mainly for pve, where the enemy lacks common sense.

The visibility of Aegis isn’t just for you; someone attacking you needs to know by looking at you if you have Aegis or not. Reducing its visibility or even hiding it completely stops this visual cue.

So they can mitigate it’s effects, making it’s usefulness ineffective.

thats the point, everything is visible in GW2, why UI alerts you when you are blinded? thats the same
