A way to hide effects!
I myself don’t have a FPS problem however in big battles there are so many magic effects that I can’t even see what’s going on. I often lose my mouse pointer in the mess. That’s my problem.

i will love something like that, i have a low spec pc, and my fps drop from 30-45 to 3-11 f on fights like the past one (karkas events.. ) , or big events like dragons…
i had made a suggestion to make something like in Aion (shift+f12 thing) u know removing the Skills or remove completely the Characters models. I can sacrifice some “only graphics” in order to play decent… but no answer there.
sorry for my wierd english. =).
I would so love some thing that made the effects of other players turn off temporarily like the circles could still be going for zones with a tiny indicator in the middle of what kind of zone it is to make it possible to know what it will do.
Was able to turn down the effects of other players in so many titles in the past and that helped tremendously, it would do wonders for this title.
I agree that it can get very messy in WvWvW for example. This… We need.
Agree, not so much for performance issues, but for the fact that it can be very hard to see wth is actually going on sometimes!
I just want to turn of the visual spam so I can see what the kitten is going on!

I totally agree. It cripples performance on many machines and i-net connections and also makes it hard to keep up with the action regardless of machine specs.
It may even make it easier for the infrastructure on their end during big events and WvW zergs.

WvsW need a “force enemy player model” feature like in old games as quake3 where it worked.
But I agree, also deactivate all effects except yours should help. But beware, if you can´t see enemy effects, maybe you can´t see a wall of reflection, a trap…etc Maybe deactivate for allies.
