AH Light/Medium/Heavy armour filter
You aren’t the first person to suggest it, but I still think it’s a good idea. It can be very tedious to go through list after list because your armor class isn’t listed.

I would like to see this too. It would save time by not seeing the armor that I can not wear
I agree. And this would really help when looking through dungeon armor and wvw armor vendors. Even a level filter too so they are grayed out so you can see and preview how you can look at higher levels but know you cant get it yet.
This has been suggested so many times and I’ve never seen a red post in answer. It actually baffles me that this function is not in the TP considering it’s in literally every other MMO I’ve played with a TP-like feature.

maybe they don’t reply when its in the works for a release already? and they just want to surprise us. it seems they don’t “patch” things up they just release complete reworks when it’s time. I wonder if this 2 week update thing forces them to keep good updates and changes for a specific release rather than just giving us the quality of life updates when needed and completed. and yes i totally agree with this post.
Last week, someone near and dear to me (not mentioning any *cough*my Thief*cough* names) inadvertently purchased 3 items of Light armor (instantly soulbound) from the Sorrow’s Embrace vendor for 570 SE tokens. Unfortunately, she wears medium armor. I was so focused on getting the right stats that I completely missed the tiny note at the bottom about the armor type not being usable by the character. Of course, a well-designed vendor interface wouldn’t even have allowed me to purchase an unusable bound-on-acquire item at all. But an armor-type filter would also have prevented this and thousands of similar mistakes.
Since this problem was about 85%-90% caused by the lack of armor-type selections on any vendor or the TP, I asked Anet to let me trade the Light items on identical Medium items. Their response was a boilerplate “It is our policy not to restore or replace lost or mistakenly-acquired items” or words to that effect. In other words, they told me tough beans and go kitten yourself.
GW2 is the first MMO I have ever played with this kitten-the-customer policy. All of the others (WoW, Rift, SWTOR, Secret World) have had active GMs who were reasonable about replacing/restoring items… even (with numerical limits) when it is the player’s fault as in salvaged by mistake, etc.
You would think, with such a player-hostile no-replacement policy, Anet would head off all the ill feelings with the simple and much-requested armor-type filters on vendors and the TP. Such filters are so simple to implement and so basic to the needs of 100% of the player community that I’m baffled why they haven’t been there since launch.

ANET just do it!
I would prefer a “Usable by me” check box. This would exclude any weapons or armor unusable by your profession, but also materials and components outside your crafting disciplines and levels, and anything that requires a higher character level.
