Alternative to mounts?

You want to mount a Asura? If that’s your thing, I guess.

I would also want it to be available during WvW or spvp. Asura gets a perma protection boon (33% incoming dmg reduction) but receive a debuff which reduces its effective weapon range (30~40%) & the Norn (or Char) gets reduced vigor regeneration and is unable to apply swiftness boon to itself. And the Asura can’t dodge ofc
I think this will make for a very interesting mechanic in both pve and pvp!

lol if your serious, I would rather stick to golems, and using golems to make me go faster or other stuff instead of a norn. Perhaps a customizable personal golem where yu have a garage to build it parts. that would make asuran race have that much more depth. Other races can have different things too like norns can maintain and evolve mounts and creatures. Chars have their small mechanical tanks to build, Humans can have their encantations that makes them fly or meditations or w/e god descending powers. sylvari can have a garden to grow some plant like mobile device, like a dandylion seed or w/e..

What you are suggesting is basically cultural mounts/abilities, I’m talking about alternative to mounts. But I do agree other races should have something special (but no flying lol)

Can’t imagine what ripples might happen for PvP/WvW, but I love the idea of having race-specific, non-combat related skills to flavour the races more. Same goes for each profession (but nothing that requires a skill slot, I think).

If anything, the other races should be able to punt you little runts around for a speed boost.

Yeah rather than requiring a skill slot, I’d imagine be similar to adding someone to a party, right-click & select piggyback and BOOM

so true, many people on these forums need to cheer up! fun ideas also have a place on these forums

My guild lead is an Asura.

I would be all for having them sitting on my charr’s back as I run on all fours into battle. Especially since as one of maybe two Charr in the entire guild I appear to be the guild’s mascot.
