I love the way the current dye system works, both in terms of the number of dyes available, and the fact that you can dye any clothing or armor item at any time with any color that you have unlocked for your character. But one thing I don’t like about the system is that once you choose an Accessory Color during character creation, you cannot then change and dye that Accessory Color at a later time.

I really feel that we should be able to dye that as well, so that if we decide we want to change our entire color scheme, we don’t have to worry about a choice we made during character creation limiting our choices for color palettes later on just to avoid our armor clashing with our hair accessories.

I support this.

There are at least three choices made during character creation that have an impact on what dyes look good later…but there’s no way to predict it in the character creation menu (since you can only color basic armor and only using the default colors).

Those color choices include:

  1. Accessory (e.g. a jewel)
  2. Hair
  3. Skin
  4. Also: tattoo, stripes/patches, glow, and eye color.

I can see ANet wanting to charge gems for a makeover for things like skin, eyes, or hair, but I don’t see why the accessory is fixed.

Oh, yeah. I really want this.

I made my character with a specific color scheme in mind, but changed it afterwards – but the accessory color is stuck at the initial color scheme I was going to use. It’s not fun to be forced to use a hat just to avoid my accessory from breaking the color scheme I’m using.
