It seems to me that it is such a waste for ArenaNet to remove all this content that they add each month, or now each fortnight. Especially now that achievements provide a tangible reward, it helps those who do not need the help i.e. players who have more time to play and earn more achievement points, and hurts those players who have less time to spend on the game because those achievement points are forever inaccessible to them.

I think they should implement a method for us to access past content whenever we want, without having it actually out there in the real world. This would keep their goal of a changing/living world as well as letting them keep the content they worked on. It seems a waste to build something and then just store it away somewhere after a set period of time to never be seen again.

We could have a ‘Historian’ character that we talk to to choose the past content that we want to experience, similar to how Durmand operated in GW1. He would explain to us that we are reliving or reenacting past events similar to the little notice they gave us in GW1 when taking other campaign based characters to the first 3 missions of Nightfall. We would then be taken into an instance with our party to experience the events.

Absolutely not. The entire purpose of it being temporary at all is to give meaning to the things that happen. We fought a war, we helped some refugees, we witnessed an assassination, we’re voting for a new council member.

If they go halfway with it and let players see all the old stuff whenever they want, they might as well just not remove any of it in the first place. Leave everything in place so the world can be stagnant.

Temporary content is only effective if it’s done fully and without regrets.
