This thread is both a discussion thread, and a suggestion thread. My idea may have flaws that my fellow players will spot, but if they check out then I would appreciate a reply from a Dev.
1: Legendaries should be account bound on creation. A lot of people are saying this, I don’t necessarily agree. It would solve problems with inflation, but it might screw over a bunch of people. Suddenly, the gold value behind legndaries just disappears. It would also increase the rarity or prestige of legendaries. If you decide to do this, give a long time of notice, and refund people their listing prices if they have a sale offer when the change goes live. I feel there are other solutions to this problem that might work better, but I could be wrong. But if you do implement this change, please do not make it apply to precursors as well. If you get a precursor as a drop, you shouldn’t feel forced to make that legendary because you can’t buy the precursor you need.
2: When you equip a legendary, it should not become soul bound. It will instead become account bound. This will not affect the rarity or value of legendaries like the first change, but it will be more incentive to get one. This is because you can use the same legendary on multiple characters. I don’t see why this wasn’t the case from the start, if you have a super nice weapon, you want to be able to show it off all the time. The current state either demotivates people from getting legendaries, or creates a much higher demand because people want it for multiple characters. If there is some reason not to do this, I am willing to listen, but if there is no reason then this should be changed.
Example: I have a level 80 guardian, and I am leveling a warrior. I really like the legendary sword, Bolt, which can be used by both professions. If I could switch between them, I would be more willing to invest all that time into a legendary, instead of only being able to use it half the time. I plan of crafting it, so the first change won’t affect me.

they cant stop em from being sold, that would be wierd but for the love of god, make em account bound on equip… ive got twilight, awesome looking sword, if i could move it around between my chars it would not have felt like a complete waste of time and effort to do it. now it just frustrates me to play any other chars cause i want that sword on them and its sitting on a char i dont play.. this should have been done from start! its an account effort to get the sword it should have been an account reward… please start to consider this, been long enough already.

Bumping this thread because its something that I also want to have, Currently I have all greatsword wielding characters at 80, and also own Sunrise and wish that I could transfer sunrise between my characters when I feel like. I spent a lot of time and gold on crafting sunrise I believe its only fair that I can use it as I feel fit without having to craft 3 more.

So +1 to account bound legendaries.

Absolutely agree! I don’t want to invest in bolt when I only use sword half the time on my mesmer, but having it account bound would solve this for me.

Totally agree.

All the gifts required to create a legendary are account bound. There items like the Karka Shell which are account and are able to be shared.

Transmuting to White/Blue equipment shouldn’t be a viable reason which also ruins the real quality of the weapon. Sunrise/Twilight owners cannot consider Eternity later on should that weapon be improved.

I don’t agree with the account bound on creation, but could not agree more with the account bound on equip. It’s a lot of work to get these items, bring back the gw1 spirit of passing weapons around to different characters!
