Guild Wars 2

I’m sure it has been asked for before…
but when players use chat, I would like an option to display account names
I am talking either instead of or in addition to the Character name that it displays now.

People have a lot of alt characters and it is getting very difficult to keep track of who is who in the chat field when you are busy doing what you are doing in game. For example, I recently just created a new character…and nobody in my guild knew who I was for about 3 hours of play until I stated my association to one of my alt character names. Sure, I know you can look at the guild page and see what characters are associated with what accounts…but most people don’t think to do that when they are in the midst of a dungeon or a battle…especially in the higher populated guilds. They usually just assume it is somebody new. I’m even noticing that some players are making all their characters with the same name…or very similar variations of the handle (name restrictions).

Either way, in an account driven game…I think having this option for maybe at least guild or party chat would make things a lot more easy going for keeping track of your friends and making new ones to boot.
