Account wide Commander
I agree. I think the commander tags should be account wide as well.
Agreed, 100G for 1 char only is a bit much, especially if like me you have 10
Agreed, is the primary reason I’ve never bought it, I have too many alts that I play fairly evenly to justify purchase the commander tag for one of them
As much as I myself would also like an account bound commander tag it’s just not going to happen. There are many people who have bought them for their alts. Changing it to account bound would make those people rage hard about how they bought x number of tags and would want to compensated their gold back.
Having a commander title on one character gives commander recognition, which is more-or-less important in the casual nature of WvW at this point and boosts community as a result.
Furthermore, we really don’t need more people with commander tags. Currently, 100g is not hard to make with the very very heavy amount of reward systems that ArenaNet laid into this game.
While it’s unfortunate that those who have say, a ranger or mesmer with their first commander title have trouble leading in WvW because of lack of speed or combat type, I prefer this to the alternative.
Lack of speed on a Ranger? How? They have the 25% signet and warhorn #5 and gs #3… and if you disable AA on sword #1 and move your cam properly you have two leaps.
Anyway, 100g, really ain’t that hard to come by. Out of my five toons 4 have tags and I don’t even W3. And when I pull my 8th pre and sell it I’ll buy another for my 5th toon lol

If the change was implemented, it wouldn’t be that hard for Anet to run a filter for accounts with multiple commander tag purchases and send them a gold refund. I’ve gotten several unexpected refunds in the mail when they made changes, or there was a bug.
