Due to the limited availability of gem-store dyes, such as the Flame & Frost dyes, they are extremely hard to come by. I really love dyes, but unfortunately I also love playing multiple characters. I, and many others, can’t stick to a single character without getting bored, unlike some other players. Because so many of the rarer, more exclusive items such as weapon skins are all soul-bound, we can never really get anything nice as it will be wasted on a character we will stop playing in a month or two.

I understand the need for weapon skins to be soulbound, especially now that they are a permanent addition to the game. Making these limited-edition dyes unlockable on only a single character takes it too far though, in my opinion. Dyes always feel less significant than the prestige that a rare and unique weapon skin gives. Yet these dyes aren’t much cheaper than the weapons, and due to their limited availability future characters won’t be able to wear these beautiful colors on their armor, even if an old dust-catching character has them unlocked.

To support players who love their alts, I ask you to make these limited available dyes account- rather than character-wide.

I completely agree. A long time ago, A-net said dyes would be account bound. They said that unlocking a dye on one character would unlock it on all. But, unfortunately, they changed their minds, saying that they “wanted more individual character progression.” I say it was a mistake. Like you said, some dyes are just near impossible to get on all characters. And having to unlock the same dye multiple times just becomes irritating.

Yea an account pool of dyes would be great.

Maybe add a limit to how many characters can actively use the dye to make it so the
people who bought abyss/celestial for all their alts aren’t left in the rain.
Ex: If an account currently has 2 characters with abyss, they would be allowed to actively use the abyss dye on any 2 characters.

This would add a new market for buying more dyes to use for additional characters and remove the guilt of deleting a character with rare dyes.

Completely agree, same with WvW ranks being account based (although that’s for another thread!).

Im waiting for those BTA dyes for so long. I really hope it will finally see the light of GW2 day.
I can even pay in gems for that. Just make it finally after so many threads.
