Achivement Points Meaningless
True, the dailies are kind of weird, excluding wvw and spvp ,I mean, why do I need to get 40 kills in shiverpeaks, or 25 underwater kills…
Is currently emotionally unstable because Breaking Bad is over
I stopped looking at the leaderboards for achievements when I realized that daylies and monthlies count towards it.
I already know who of my friends spends most of the time in the game. What I don’t know (and would love to know) is: which of my friends has earned his achievement points?
He’s not making a point about the dailies, if you read. He’s saying that dailies should not be worth Achievement points, which I fully agree with.
Achievement points are a fun way to compare completion with friends. But it’s impossible to have any sort of game or contest when the people with the most Achievement points are simply the ones who do their dailies more often. I took a break from the game for a bit and just came back last week and I know I’ll never catch up to people who did not take that break. It’s frustrating.

I agree. All this is doing is inflating everyone’s achievement points. I think if anything, they just need to at least cap them out at a certain number daily. For instance, once you finish 5 for the daily, you no longer receive points for each daily after that (but still the experience) Or even cap it out at 10 DAILY achievement points each day. 6 MAX on the standard ones and then all 4 PvP dailies, or 8 normal dailies and only 2 PvP dailies.

Exactly, I love dailies/monthlies and will continue to do them, achievement points or not.
They should just remove the achievement points from dailies and monthlies. I mean really, is it achievement worthy to kill 25 underwater enemies. Really? Was that an impressive feat of skill?
I’d love to have a possible roof for the achievement points, not an “I didn’t play for one month = I’ll never be able to catch up”
