I think “Gold Seller” should be added to the drop-down list of reasons in the “Player Conduct Report” dialog box.

It’d also be nice if they were automatically added to your Block list. Perhaps they could also be automatically removed when they are eventually banned for being a gold seller.

I logged on today and instantly got 2 mails from them, rather annoyning. I reported them for spam but I don`t think it gives Anet a good picture of what it is when they are going through reports.

I report them as scammers. I believe however there should be a special place in hell for goldsellers.

I second that idea.

It does seem to be a big enough problem to merit its own option.

I was thinking of a general, “Breach of User Agreement” option or similar. Or an “Other” where you could write in in the problem if it didn’t fit.

Add my vote to this, I reported on this morning and had to tag them as spamming, which I have two problems with: firstly, for me spamming is hardly even an offence, where gold selling is a serious violation of the EULA and I don’t want to see it, which means the report feels rather understated, and part of me worries that Anet get so many reports for spam for all sorts of minor and unsubstantial reasons that my report may be overlooked.

Secondly, the one I reported wasn’t actually spamming, they said it only once. Which (and I know this isn’t actually likely) makes me think of the possibility of the report being dismissed due to the fact that the player wasn’t actually guilty of the crime I reported, or even worse, making it look like I cried wolf (as I’m sure many players will for all sorts of minor and petty reasons).

So yes, any way to report them for a reason more accurate/substantial than spamming gets a thumbs up from me!

Same, every time i get online i have at least 2 messages from these people. I have a feeling all these gold sellers are getting our friends name from here, they really should allow us to have separate names instead of our gw2 friends name. Normally i would love using the same name on the forums as i do ingame, but the gold sellers are so bad in this game it isn’t even funny. I was in the grove a little bit ago on my new character i made getting all the pois and whatnot and there were like 4 gold sellers spamming the hell out of map chat the whole time.

Anet needs to do something to stop these people, i have never seen another game/series that has as many gold sellers constantly spamming chat and players mail as gw1 and gw2 do. Something about this game attracts these pests more than other games and i hope anet finds the cause soon and puts a stop to it.

Plus its kinda scary that if you report someone, you get a different name (accountname, the one with the numbers) from the one you are actually reporting, so there is a chance you report the wrong one (when chat moves very fast), and there is no way to check if you got the right one, apart from clicking it back to check. :P
I really would like Anet to only use our charnames in game; no one needs to know my accountname anyways, only people I choose to tell.

I want this as well. I keep reporting them for either Botting or Scamming, but the problem with goldsellers is so widespread that I really think ANet needs to add “Goldseller” or “3rd Party Seller” to the options.

It would make it easier for them aswell, since deciding whether or not someone is guilty of promoting goldselling services is very easy with a quick glance at their chat history.

oh, and I forgot: for not-native English speakers (like me), it is very difficult to know the difference between: botting, spamming and scamming. Add to that people who aren’t familiar with gamelanguage (like me), and you have another difficulty to overcome. Just a simple Goldseller option would be great.

Agreed. Logged in last night to find 5 gold seller notes in mail grrrr. I report as spam but wonder if harassment or something might be better?

yep, I feel like I’m being harassed when I get mail from them. Also, it scares me that if they can get my name how easy is it for them to hack my account?
