I think this would be a great addition to the already pretty cool item. If others are like me then i think this would increase the sales of this item, and i personally would buy a few for my characters.

I think they already answered why it will never happen – it’s because race is tied to your personal story and they can’t just swap your whole story by changing your race.

Racial Change Kit. It should be its own kit.

The personal story really isn’t even that much of an issue. just require the player to have either 0% or 100% of their story complete, and upon race change have them choose new story details at that point (like in character creation).

As for losing personal story progress, people who want to change race probably aren’t too invested in their personal story to begin with. I’ve seen and started many threads about race change but I don’t think we can look forward to it.

How often do we have to see this crap suggestion about race change, until finally everyone realizes, that this will NEVER happen.

What is so dammn hard to understand about anets official NO to this feature?
Does seriously anyone here think about for 1 second first, who is going to make a thread about this feature to use the search function?

Seriously these kind of threads make me slowly sick.
A 100% official No is still a 100% official NO and there can be posted million threads about this, it won’t change ANets official statement about this topic.
When will people grasp this finally???

This is like a QQing kid, that keeps on QQing for something what it wants desperately, when its mothers has already told it an absolute no about what the kid wants and showed it instead a different way how to get it what the kid wants by just using an other method that the mother allows the kid to use to receive what it wants.

What a waste of time it must feel like to even write a reply in a thread like this? I mean the nerve of some people to suggest something that only you remember won’t change based on Arenanet’s official statement about this topic. Obviously EVERYONE playing GW2 MUST KNOW THIS. The nerve of people!

Surely not everybody knows that, but people could informate themself first, before they post something, what might have beend discussed to death already.

For what seriously exists the search function??? its surely not there just for fun…
One might maybe complain about that the function doesn’t work really well currently, but thats not an excuse for making countless of the same topics, when basically one thread is about this topic already existing under the top 3 pages of the forum and you have to overview them just to see them directly.
But alot of people are already way too lazy to do even this !!

But this is most likely a problem of the lazy generation of facebook/twitter people and the like, which simple don’t want to read anything first at all, before they post something instantly being not informated about what has been already posted.

The search function is bugged. There are threads about it. As a test I’ve searched for threads I can see on that page and it had it turn up zero responses. Also it won’t bring up threads that are older than a certain age. There are threads I knew the exact title for because I posted in them and could find them in my forum profile and was unable to pull them up with search.

One problem is that when you type something like Race, it doesn’t pull the threads up. You have to know that you need to force it to type race. Most people are not going to realize this and not know why their search failed.

So you are being a little harsh with these people. They could have easily searched as you suggested and gotten nothing.

Another issue people aren’t thinking about,
With it being tied to the personal story,
If you change race, guess what? you just unlocked more achievement points for doing absolutely nothing. Especially if you have 100% done for your previous race.

Example:
Human who has all their personal story completed changes to norn,
that person now has the norn achievement points done with no work done
on their part besides paying for a kit.
