Add a Hard Mode!
HM in GW was implemented to extend the live of the game, We also had Heroes/Henchies to avoid the lack of people in the world.
GW2 is not even 1 year old with no expansions and there is no way to bypass the lack of people in the world. Also, only very few people want or are able to do “challenger” content. Most people avoid a simple Group Event Boss because is too hard and even simple dungeons like AC is beyond their abilities.
So, should Anet waste development time to please a very few people? IMO, no.
Of course, if those people want a HM so badly, Anet can always release a “HM Expansion” trough the Gem Store (for 8k gems) or simply sell it for real money.

I think a Hardmode world…thing would be really cool. Make it kind of like a overflow when you go into hardmode in open world.
I was just saying HM for dungeons, it wouldn’t really be difficult to adjust the stats of mobs within, or even add a new hard mode path to each of the 8 dungeons. A HM world would be cool but it would thin out the already dwindling number of people within zones.
The main problem I would imagine is that most dungeons aren’t strategically challenging enough, so making fights take longer would just be annoying. They should just add a new different HM path that has stronger mobs and new challenges. (easier said than done I know :P)
Considering, they just upped the damage output in Southsun to near One/two shot deaths, this “hard mode” better be optional. There’s nothing I hate more than being insta-killed. It’s freaking RNG now while playing.
I’d like hard mode in open world too. Currently there’s simply no challenge while roaming. I remember some bosses in GW1 hm were pretty kitten tough – especially that flame guy in EotN expansion. Needed careful pulling to kill him.
In contrast regular PvE in gw 2 is just too easy.

I have noticed a substantial lack of people coming to save my life from the champion golem i accidentally-
I am all for hard mode with harder mobs, and a harder boss, or even better, alternate mobs, alternate boss, and alternate dungeon layout.

You will hit the GW2 design square on here. In GW2 you can avoid damage by skillful play and this is different from other MMOs where you tend to soak the damage with a tank character and heal up. The difficulty could be changed easily by changing the numbers in the equations for damage, heals, etc from monsters and equipment. In GW2 once a player can dodge then they can dodge and boosting monster stats creates boring high health pool bosses, one shot deaths, ridiculous numbers of enemies, and other generally unpopular designs.
