Add a jumping puzzle "condition"
I agree with this, as JP’s don’t require you to use swiftness to complete them. Mesmers are making money off of the harder puzzles which bravo for them, not going to lie I did it too in the Skipping stones puzzle with mine. As someone said in Map chat paying 5 gold to any mesmer that portals me to the end… I took the gold ARE YOU CRAZY THAT WAS 5 GOLD
I’m a Mesmer that offers free ports to the end of each JP I just finished. I don’t get why people would do so, but I see no harm in helping them to get some points and a chest or two.
On the other hand: AE Swiftness skills are really anoying, the are the reason why I do jumping puzzles with my Mesmer in the first place so I can go back to the last safe spot if a Ele kittened it up for me.

Where it is cool to help out, I feel it is somewhat Dis-concerning that one person would claim to have done X puzzle when all he did is Mesport
On my mesmer, I offer free portals to people quite often, usually the puzzles in LA. The reason for doing it in LA is that heck, most people have done them already and would just do it again for the loot. I also help with the skipping stones puzzle because some people just can’t get it, and even then I only get them to halfway. Really, I just like helping a few people.

LOL the lions arch I can agree with, and getting them half way is cool also
I don’t mind people teleporting. Some people suck at platforming. Great that other players can help those people out with a friendly teleport.

I agree that mesmer portals should be disabled, simply because nobody should get an achievement for something they did not do.
Stuff like swiftness can stay imo, after all you are still doing the puzzle and making the jumps, even if you run a bit faster.
Disagree. It helps bring a small bit of communication to the game. And it isn’t gamebreaking.
Also, I once used my portal to help a very large charr and very large norn get up certain places in Troll’s End. I also showed them how to do it the normal way. The poor things were really having a hard time.

It’s not like you could portal on the clock tower. Help a fellow Guildwarsian out – lend a helping portal. I love my mesmer because it can adapt to anything – even platforming – such as a timely blink-assisted portal in FotM after Old Tom. Between Blink and the Portal, I get an edge from my class that lets me contribute to certain elements of dungeons, jumping puzzles, running through maps, etc. I am sure other classes have skills that are situationally helpful in some way in non-combat situations. While Portal is like a trump card, it really helps with the community spirit.
I mean everyone was jumping up the shortcut on the skipping stones puzzle and after that it is a relatively straightforward trek to the treasure and the champion and 2nd chest beyond. The largest difficulty was getting through the two sets of skipping stones, and I was able to bring people up to the first landing so that they could keep making progress, and in turn, help me learn the tricky jumps faster myself.
I mean really, what else is that skill good for other than the very occasional res-and-run to prevent a total party wipe? Helping your team – or anyone – have an easier time of it – it’s just a friendly thing to do.
