Currently the options are:

Botting
Inappropriate Character Name
Spamming
Verbal Abuse
Scamming
Gold Selling

… But nothing for CHEATING. Today in WvW I came across a speedhacker, straight up, speedhacker. He was traversing HUGE areas of land within seconds via teleporting. This player was a Ranger, and this is simply not possible.

We need an option to report for cheating, because this isn’t the first time I’ve seen this before.

The potential for abuse of -this- specific report function is HUGE! I can just see them having all their time being taken up with following up on stupid reports by people with an agenda or a hate on for another player…especially in PvP. No a good idea, imo.

The potential for abuse by ANY of the options exists. That is not a valid argument to completely omit the option to report people for CHEATING.

Agreed, a cheating option needs to exist. Any sort of report feature has inherent risks for abuse, and not a single one is exempt from that consideration, but they exist because it is necessary for reports, true or false, to make it back to the dev team to be examined.

Honestly, just report them as bots. When they go over the player logs they’ll see the character flying/teleporting around, and treat them like a bot. That’s what we should want anyways, since a perma-ban is the best resolution.

They’re using a third-party software to gain an advantage ingame.

They’re bots. Easy as that.
