If you run a class that uses two greatweapons don’t you feel it’s kinda getting screwed on sigils? If I run axe/mace on my warrior I can stack 2 sigils on one set that have synergy with one another. If I use say hammer/rifle in WvW i’m stuck with 1 sigil per weapon.

Is it really OP to have 2 sigils on a 2h weapon? It’s the same amount of attacks on both weapons… The only difference is aesthetic that I’m actually holding a 2h weapon. Strikes me as odd that the decision was even made to limit one set to only 1 sigil while dual wield sets get 2.

Is it possible for a dev to post and give their reasons for not allowing it? If it’s OP and I just don’t realize the technicality of it I would love to be enlightened. (Serious not sarcasm.)

Actually, the stats the weapon has will only be applied when you hit with that weapon.
So if you have +5% to accuracy from the sigil for example on your offhand weapon, you don’t get the accuracy bonus while hitting on the mainhand weapon.

This is not true. While some may, not all/most don’t. Like Bloodlust/Corruption. Every time you kill a mob, no matter what you kill them with, you don’t even have to hit them with a weapon if you have another way, you get a stack. As a ranger I get stacks from letting my pets kill things just by having the weapon equipped.

This is still a simple solution. You make Primary and Secondary Sigils. A Secondary Sigil can be placed in a Primary Sigil slot, but a Primary Sigil can’t be placed in a Secondary Sigil slot. All single handed weapons have one Primary Sigil slot. Two handed weapons have one Primary Sigil slot and one Secondary Sigil slot. Primary Sigils are defined as Sigils whose effect only occur for the weapon they are attached to. Secondary Sigils are defined as those whose effects occur regardless of the weapon used at that moment.

Sigil effects are not restricted to the respective weapon’s skills. For example, a Sigil of Force on an off hand weapon will also increase the damage of mainhand skills or utility skills.

Sigils that trigger on critical hits can trigger on any critical hits dealt by the player, with any skill.

Though there is a character sheet error where the 5% crit sigil isn’t added to the crit chance on the character sheet when on an off-hand weapon, it still has its effect of increasing crit chance with any attack by 5%.

On Topic:
2 Handed weapons may not get the benefit of 2 sigils (Double Stacks for stacking sigils, or a % damage increase AND a proc sigil)

They have other benefits, such as all 5 of the skills are affected single traits (Not all classes can dual wield like weapons meaning that 1 trait will provide benefit to 2/3 skills) and they have higher damage which impacts their scaling by a decent amount (2 handed weapons do about 100 more damage average, which considering is multiplied by power has a big impact)

Made a similar question-thread about this.

I don’t think the stat differences can possibly make up for the power of having an extra sigil.
Making 2Hs have 2 sigil slots means we will be able to pick our play style purely on weapon-skills and not be tied to sigils.

Except for Greatswords… Warr, Guard, and Mes GS skill-sets feel powerful enough to ignore the the advantage of a 2nd sigil…

Wow, you guys are right. Ugh, I wonder who fed me that info in the first place. Oh well, I’m still using a staff, and still don’t think it is that big of a deal.
