I’ve made a similar post as a discussion. Also posting it here in the form of a suggestion.

What I propose is a weekly laurel cap. Attach the laurels to something other than dailies and put a limit per week instead of per day. This way we can still make up for the laurel loss when we need to skip a day.

Something like 7 tasks per week. Doable at any point in time. – An idea stolen from another user.
