I understand in a truly open world game like GW2 (vs GW1 instanced gameplay) it would be more resources that need to be devoted on Anets part to ensure skill balancing.

But I feel that being tied to weapon skills (and not being able to swap out weapon skills) and only having elites etc to play around with, limits the gameplay diversity, experience and opportunities for PvE/PvP/WvW.

One great element of GW1 that kept many people coming back was the sheer amount of skills and builds to play around with, that constantly evolved, changed and emerged.

It kept things fresh and varied.

But now you basically the same builds being played by people all the time.

I understand it would be a big undertaking and change a large element of gameplay in GW2, but I think its necessary to keep things fresh and interesting.

Hell, it would breathe more life into the game.

Maybe many of the new skills thatwould be added don’t need to be “new” at all, but some skills can be taken from GW1 and added, as some already have been on release, that don’t interfere with lore/gameplay mechanics

Dude I’m right there with you! I love GW1 for those reasons also. I enjoyed sitting around trying to figure out new and awesome combinations of skills (that later get nerfed lolz).

I’ve been playing GW from prophecy even then I thought the set of skills was far better and enjoyable to customize then they are now.

Maybe add new Attributes also?

At the very least I’d like to see a pool of select-able weapon skills. Maybe 2-5 because 1 is the basic attack. Or remove it (1) all together and go back to a non select base attack opening up a larger pool of weapon based skills to select from.

While I’m throwing out ideas Allowing eles to switch weapons at least in PVE would be nice. Far to often I find needing a set of skills from scepter, and dagger rather then walking into a battle with staff and being stuck with it. As a downfall to switching make what ever number skill go on cool down or the whole weapon skill bar for a sec as to reduce massive spike switch spike dmg.

In any event more skills PLEASE! Because I have no enjoyment setting skills in this game. From the time I’ve got this game I have reset my stats ONCE.
