My first couple of weeks in GW2 have been none stop reading the wiki, figuring out what I need, and where to get it. I think it’s a shame that a lot of things in the game are not explained, and thus require the player to check the internet.

For example, Fractals doesn’t at any moment explain agony, or how to protect against it. Most of us know that you can get agony gear.. and some of us know that you can also craft items with even more agony resistance… but I couldn’t find any of this out in-game. I had to look online, and it quite a lot of reading, trying to figure out what I needed to craft what in the Mystic Forge. If you seriously want to do Fractals at higher levels, a lot of this sort of equipment becomes required. So why doesn’t the game explain any of it at any point?

I’m sure there are plenty of other matters that could use a tutorial, so feel free to post what you think could use some explanation. I’d like to see a tutorial for agony resistance.

This is the biggest weakness of the game. I am amazed at just how much stuff is not explained. You are just expected to know it.

A quick tip that should be mentioned in the game (maybe adding a text about it on the launcher)… in-game if you type /wiki whatever it’ll open a GW2 wiki search on that.

It’s a pile of Elonian protection magic, mixed with a little monk training,
wrapped up in some crazy ritualist hoo-ha from Cantha.
A real grab bag of ‘you can’t hurt me. They’re called Guardians.

A wiki is not a tutorial.
