Adding armor damage visuals
Damaged armor has the same effectiveness as undamaged armor. Showing a visual effect will give people the opportunity to call you out and harass you to repair your armor for no better combat effectiveness.
Personally I always wait until at least one piece of armor is broken before repairing.

Why would they harness you if you have the same effectiveness? You just called everyone idiots because your own fears
This will give more immersion in the game and players will recognize who has repaired or damaged armor.
Why do you need to recognise who has repaired or damaged armour?
I’m with the other poster. Through laziness I quite often run around with damaged armour until one piece is on the verge of breaking because it has no bearing on my stats.
The majority of the time I suffer damaged armour is because of failings of others in the group I am in. Personally would not like a visual reminder of their shortcomings. There is already a visual reminder when armour pieces disappear when they are broken.
How about aesthetics? You fight all your way through monsters and your armor is still shining like new ?
That extra detail might appeal to some people but personally if I have worked hard to collect a great looking set of armour I don’t want my aesthetic ruined because I died through someone elses incompetence.

You can still repair it, right? you even have a mobile repair kit if you want to look shinny and sparkly all the time.
Oh, I like how you consider yourlself blameless while everyone else has caused you to fail
I never said I am blameless. I just have enough self-awareness to know when I am and when I am not responsible for a wipe in a group situation.
If you are one of these people that like to bumble through a dungeon incurring wipe after wipe and then giggling with girlish glee as your efforts are visually commemorated by increasingly deteriorating armour, that is fine.
Just don’t expect others to jump for joy as their own aesthetic is affected by your ineptitude.

players, probably won’t, but considering all your efforts to make the suggestion look bad, it may give Anet a hint that there are players like you would buy repair kits if they implement it
A new catch up for those who don’t like spending money black lion chest keys.
I personally go to a repair merchant whenever I am close to one. Considering that I am spending most of my game-time in Queensdale, there are plenty of them
