Guild Wars 2

So I heard form either an article, AMA, or a video that AN is going to add the great axe (don’t see why it wasn’t added in the first place.) with an upcoming patch post launch. I think they should add other weapons as well. Two I think will work really well in this game are Crossbows, two-handed range weapon. Lore reason is that it is the tech between bows and guns. Professions to use it would be imo, Thiefs, Engineers, rangers, maybe Ele’s or Warriors. Another weapon would be Polearms, because polearms are bad*** need i say more? Warriors and gardians could use it. rangers possibly, maybe thiefs. I could see Ele’s or Necros using it as well.

Any suggestions?

The more weapons the better imo. I don’t think giving players choices is ever a bad thing, and personally I wouldn’t mind another 2H weapon for my Necro to try out.

I would personally love to see spears in the game. In past experience, the only MMO games that let me wield a spear are eastern grind-fests. I don’t mind if they’re one handed or two handed weapons, spears are flexible.

I would want the following, each being it’s own category of weapon with its own abilities for each class that can use it.

Fist and Claws
Two-Handed Axes
One-Handed Hammers
One and Two-Handed Curved Blades
Tower Shields
One and Two-Handed Spears (on land)
Polearms
Crossbows
Flails and Chains
Combat Staffs (for melee)
Throwing Knives

I could probably do this all day.

They are, but I completely forgot about their existance when I made that post. I would still like to see spears as a non-aquatic weapon though.

How about a black jack. Wasn’t there an uber black jack weapon in EQ?

You are correct they are the under water weapon. Maybe they could do halberds for ground spears :P

Oh, and I’d like to see a distinction made between maces and morningstars.

Right now the mace models include both and each weapon was distinctive with their own styles of combat and their own strengths.

I would love to see a Katana in the game. A 2h samurai style Katana would be a sight to see, especially when you think of the stances and atack animations your character would have while wielding it. And as to not conflict with the existing GS it could be more directed for single targets , fast atacking single target 2hander

I actually have a post going for future weapons as well as what roles they could play for each class. Please by all means add to it, trying to update the originally post to include ideas as they are added
