I understand that this game does not follow the usual MMO trend of having a holy trinity. However, ive been doing alot of dungeons lately and one thing that annoys me is when ur grp pulls a big mob and everyone’s grabbing aggro left, right, and centre.

I think we really need some sort of aggro control implemented in this game. As a ranger, i wear medium armour, so my survivability is not on par with classes such as guardian or a warrior, therefore i drop way more when i pull aggro. I dont wanna cop huge repair bills anymore for something i can’t control…

I’d like to hear other thoughts and opinions on how you feel abt this issue.

I think there needs to be some form of aggro table system put in. Even something that resets every 10 seconds or so would be nice.

It is very annoying playing a Guardian, Defensive/healing style, and playing “chase the mob” as it seems the farthest away player in the group gets the aggro. Makes my heavy armor sort of useless and feel very non-guard like.

Just getting tired of zerging all the fights in instances.

if you need to rely on other players to keep the enemy away from you… well…

i mean, i play a thief and i don’t see the need for someone else to hold the line for me in a dungeon, and i don’t have knockbacks or good ranged options like the ranger, and i have a smaller base health pool too.

only mobs i’ve seen with weird agro are the door guard from CM story, who just seems to LOVE my ranger friend and ignores everyone else, and the CoE exp golem with the turrets, who does the same thing to the same ranger friend.

Aggro seems to be a game of musical chairs. It’s happened countless times to me that someone running through Orr and dragging a bunch of mobs with them will pass by me and the person instantly passes aggro to me. Some people seem to be doing it on purpose. I’ve seen a number of complaints about this in chat, so it’s not only happening to me.

Bruno, it’s a piece of cake for thieves to drop aggro. Try doing it on a ranger some time.

^ either way, leaving your pet to tank and then pet swapping is one easy way to do it in normal PvE. it’s what i do when i’m trying to run.

on dungeons, you have that super knockback from the longbow, and the ability to kite by strafing. with a full party, staying at range, even if the mob won’t let the agro go, is hardly an issue. especially for a class called, you know, ranger.

There is kind of an aggro system, you just don’t have any way to drop aggro aside from to stop attacking. Also, I’ve noticed that the initiator generates WAY more aggro then anyone else. At least, it’s seemed that way in some cases.
