Alcohol in GW2 ANET PLEASE READ
I drunk 25 beers in about 20s only to find out it didn’t count towards the daily feast. The visual only lasted about 90s. Which is way too short for even one beer.
The alcohol visual should last 5m and stack up to 1h. And be turned off by clicking on the little icon. Why so long, I might want to play a boss fight drunk.
Also add hallucinogen drugs to the game. Nothing that’s real. Just call it something else.
Tbh, I don’t see the point behind the alcohol items in the game, since they don’t grant buffs or seem to do anything regarding character behavior. I think it would be appropriate if alcohol items became useable items, like the tree branches, rocks, etc. that you pick up as environmental weapons. A character could be shown holding a drink in their hand, and could have a set number of sips or lengthy chugs they could use with them that would be animated. And yes, drinking enough, fast enough would cause the character to behave drunk, weaving around, walking unsteadily, maybe even randomly falling down. It would definitely be a fun mechanic to use for roleplaying.
Something…arbitrarily shooting off skills and inability to autorun in a straight line. Alcohol seems to be a placeholder in the game atm.
Even if I hate WoW comparisons, I liked how they did the drunk effect in the game. Basically your vision got blurred (more blur the more you drank), you couldn’t walk straight (your character keept going sideways) and anytime you talked on chat it would replace the s’s with sh’s
wrapped up in some crazy ritualist hoo-ha from Cantha.
A real grab bag of ‘you can’t hurt me. They’re called Guardians.
