All mobs bag of loot
It already works this way in wvw – I see no reason for it to NOT work this way in the rest of the game.
It would probably save some peoples FPS as well, since a baggy is less to render than the corpse with it’s glittering firefly effect.
Only issue with this is prolonged fights causing the loot to vanish after timeout of loot. I thought Anet was not having this occur ever.
In order to have this feature game wide… we need loot to stay on the ground indefinitely or over 30 minutes enough time (even in WVW to go back to the loot of you die)
Or allow a certain number of objects to remain on screen, Sega’s Phantasy Star series (the online era at least) allows a total of 30 items/drops/ w/e to stay on the ground forever! If a 31st drop appears, the oldest drop is deleted from the server’s memory and gone for good and so on. That way, you can get to your drop on your own time without ditching a mob or fight to loot.
I like the bags of loot. After the fight, hold down Ctrl and they all pop up, bags of loot in yellow letters. I know it’s because we don’t actually kill them so there is no body to loot, but they could still put this in regular PvE. It’s a lot more visible than faint sparkles and the bodies could despawn quickly leaving the loot bags behind.
