My character is me and I don’t want to think of some random gibberish every time I create an alt.
Friends know me by name, why not let us keep it on all characters?

What would happen when someone tries to mail you? Does it get duplicated? When someone buys something from you in trading post, do all the accounts get the money?

just give it a different last name and quite frankly if you’re using your real name as your character name there are serious security risks there ..

Seems pretty simple.

Mail would be account wide as well.

When you buy something or sell something on the TP, it’s already account wide. Any character can pick up the stuff.

Mail already is account wide. I see no technical reason why this isn’t possible, except maybe a limitation with no differentiating names belonging to same account from those belonging to a different account.

I don’t know why someone would want this, but barring a technical limitation or a design philosophy on their part, this seems perfectly possible. Given that everything is account wide, I don’t see why this would be a real problem, and I can see how it would make interaction easier.

Haha, no.
Same “nickname”, not my real name. That would be pretty silly.

As the person above me noted, everything is already account based. I can relog on another character and still be in the same group I logged out from on another and I can read mail\collect TP items on every character.
