I can guess why Anet wouldn’t want players to salvage karma items for crafting materials, but I don’t see any reason why we can’t recover upgrades (runes, sigils, gems) like any other item.

it’s pretty obvious to me.
buy an item for karma you literally got for doing nothing and salvage an X gold worth rune or sigil out of it… genius

Yeah, I’m with FK on this one. It would ruin the market value. If you use a trans-stone, you can transfer the upgrade component to the new weapon though, (assuming it’s the same type of weapon).

Yep, as long as it’s the same type of armor.
