Who cares if there might be a little bit of clipping if you sit down with a charr on a normal chair to be honest. Or your armor clips through part of the chair. I mean there is already alot of odd clipping if you stand on, /sleep on, /sit on.. various objects.

+1. That’s what I’m lobbying for since time immemorial and the single most important thing. (it’s actually NOT a small thing, the whole world and all taverns would need a manual makeover. Then they got absurd creature sizes.)

Also, Arenanet, your communication channels aren’t right. You need a daily or weekly newspaper for each language/community/server with user submitted, strictly IC, but carefully fact- and typo-edited content (under supervision of the offically appointed Lore Overlord). In an easy to find place. Like a button top left. With an full, searchable archive of all issues. The existing Wiki would be the natural place for this. (or, actually, PDF would be better!) Including adverts for guilds and events. In a positively medieval layout and, for the love of God, no sans serif typeface! – You’d also need a running IC-date.

Please implement the ability to sit in chairs, benches, lay down on beds, etc. As it stands (pardon the pun) currently, when you stand on a chair/bed and /sleep or /sit, the character will perform the action THROUGH the object.

That would be a great feature.

Very small feature that altho isnt a NEED atm, it would take kitten all time to implement.

And can we have a animation emote hud or a list of animation emotes. So we don’t have to remember and type the command for animations.

I’m pretty sure they promised the ability to sit on bar stools and use ale mug items with abilities pre-launch. Not seeing that. +1, OP.

A relative easy and quick way to implement this, could be the usage of a /chair emote command, which could display your character sitting on its own ‘racial’ chair, appearing when you enter the command.

This way, no hassle with finding a chair for everyone,
and the corresponding type regarding your race.

This is something that can be added when Guild Halls are implemented. I imagine a large table with guild members sitting around discussing plans of action.

Really would enjoy this, likely complex request but such a simple idea. Please do this.

This would also fix that currently rather amusing lecture room in the Priory, with all those NPCs sitting at desks, every single one clipping in what looks an incredibly painful and medically serious way…

As someone who recently came over from LOTRO, I totally agree with this. The rest of the game is in fine shape for the most part, but the social aspects of the game could use some improvement and this is a little addition that could go a long way.

Chairs, in general PvE being available, are not on their to do list at the moment for reasons given. What you might ask for is a chair from the gem store that has a sitting option available to it.

I believe that with the current state of the game the option to be able to sit in a chair may be a overpowering and imbalanced. God knows it would certainly give certain players advantages over others. Like when I used to play wow and I would go to ironforge to find a place to sit , all the seats were already taken. People just sat there, hogging up all the seating. Totally threw the mechanics of the game out of sync and made it unplayable. I found myself logging in less and less because of the lack of sitting. I don`t want this to be the same way. I also couldn`t possibly fathom the programming required to make that happen, would probably be nigh impossible. Would probably need an entirely new game engine as well.

To the topic: even if ArenaNet says that they are currently not working on it, I still would love to have this too. Sure, it does not add to the game-play as such, but it adds a lot to the community / socializing and to the (all too often neglected) Role-Play community.

Please find a way to make this come true.

Asura floating psychic domination chair with heating/cooling drinkholder and backrub function, please. Genius is hard. I need a massage without leaving the lab sometimes, and my assistants are just as likely to pour acid down my back as they are to rub it, the incompetents. Not that they’d ever do it on purpose… I treat my assistants well. I do. Really.
