Okay, so I’ve been lvl 80 for awhile and I have, like, a bajillion skill points just sitting, worthless, on my character because I don’t craft. Could we please get something for the non-crafters to spend these points on? Let us convert them to karma, maybe? Or use them to buy things in the Black Lion TC? Or trade them in for buffs like you could do in GWEN?

I just hate to see them sitting there doing nothing.

You can use them to make mysctic and legendary weapons by buying components from that woman by the mystic forge. Also can use to buy seigemasters manuals to upgrade your seige blueprints.

I don’t agree with this.

While in theory it would be nice to have something to spend skill points on if you don’t craft, most of the uses skill points have in regards to crafting are aesthetics. They don’t improve a character or give you any tangible benefit besides “looking cool”.

All the stuff you’re suggesting, on the other hand, would be more of a “real” advantage. Using skill points as money / karma would let you acquire those currencies faster than a player saving skill points for crafting. And buffs would obviously boost your characters’ parameters beyond the norm.

There are several things you can use your skill points for, here’s an example superior siege weaponry: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Siege_weapon it requires 1 skill point to forge a superior siege weapon for wvw. This is just one example, there are many other things you can do with skill points believe it or not.

You’re letting them sit there, do nothing.

Without crafting, just buy the following from the TP:
5 orichalcum weapon part X, eg sword blade
5 ancient wood weapon part Y, eg sword hilt
30 mystic coins

Go to miyani and buy an Eldritch scroll for 50 skill points

Throw these 4 things in the MF, sell on TP, 4g profit.

Any weapon will work, and if you can craft, it’ll obviously be cheaper. But even at TP prices, 50 skill points are basically worth 4g.

Try to make your legendary dude, skill points are much more ideal to spend on those few materials rather than laurels/fractal relics, and you will probably find that you won’t have enough. Also making infusions for your ascended gear chews up some too.

If you’re not interested in a legendary, or any of the other skins that require the use of skill points to create, let one of your guilds WvW commanders (or world’s if your guild doesn’t WvW) know you’re sitting on a bunch of skill points.

I’m sure they’ve got plenty of siege for you to upgrade (requires skill points).

I’m sure they’ve got plenty of siege for you to upgrade (requires skill points).

I know a guy that would make a few gold on doing this for commanders. it was something like 10s per skill point used.
