Alternatives to questing.
I hear this from time to time, usually it is when someone is experiencing MMO burn out (honestly you do have to take breaks and do other hobbies) or when they don’t actively look for groups to join/talk friends into trying out the game.
I’m not experiencing MMO burn out.
This and The Secret World are the only MMOs I play and I only get on once every few days for a few hours.
None of my friends are really big gamers and none are really open to the idea of paying 40-60 bucks for a game they probably would forget about sooner than later.
If your level 30 try gw2lfg.com you never have to touch another Heart quest. As far as events that happen in areas, my guess is your on a low population server, may I suggest guesting to a high population server.
I am not going to say that you should be this hard core gamer, although if you openly admit to being a very casual gamer then making changes for gamer’s that jump on once a week is a bit silly. Although the suggestion I gave you should help your experience a little more, and make it a little more interesting.
Bottom line is if you only poke your head in to the game periodically it is going to be hard to please you. The game has tons of features available to you to entertain you for the time you get on, you just have to find out what interest you and take advantage of it
I’ll check that site out.
There is nooo way I’m paying for a server transfer. I already payed for the game I shouldn’t have to be nickel and dimed to death.
I also don’t really see what’s wrong with catering to both casual gamers and enthusiasts. It expands the market and makes better business sense. When I left Warcraft they had regular dungeons and then heroics/raids. I never really got into the heroics/raiding but I enjoyed leveling characters and the dungeon finder system was very well put together.
it isn’t that they are not trying to make the Casual gamer’s happy, but lets face it, casual gamer’s are not adding to your bottom line, yes you can add stuff to help them but a majority of additions will be for the more dedicated players.
Example:
I am a professional chef, I work in a Italian restaurant head chef. I do Chef specials ( as I am the head chef ) Fridays and Saturdays, I pick out 3 plates I make all night long and the plates go for about $50 more than they normally do. I have one customer that comes in about every six weeks and pays 450 dollars a plate for a custom order, where most of the chef special plates go for 125 to 165. We cater to him for a multitude of reasons (money is one of them ), but I don’t change my chef special selection because of one customer every 6 weeks.
The same goes for a Gaming company that does an online game, sure if you put forth enough incentive they will give you want you want, but over all the majority of the dishes they are offer are A, B, and C.
Although it sounds like your on a low pop server, and you don’t want to transfer which is fine, for as much as you play you can guest on ( which is free ) to a high pop server
- Jade Quarry
- Blackgate
- Sanctum of Rall
they are great servers, just when you get to the character select screen click the tab that say’s - World transfer
This will bring up the Server list find a server you like and highlight it, then at the bottom will be transfer servers ( or something of that nature) or Guest. Just click on guest and your on the more populated server for 24 hours. You can guest on a server as many times as you like, in your life time, but only 2 per a 24 hour period I believe.
