An idea, how about offhand being part of the auto attack (attack 1)?

I guess this would be a pretty big feature, so if they’d ever consider it would probably be in an expansion.
I just think dual wielding at least on guardian is a bit boring, you have this offhand weapon but you don’t do anything with it except every once in a while when the CD is ready.
For example the shield on the guardian, it just is there strapped to your arm most of the time doing nothing. Wouldn’t it be fun if when equipping a shield part of the “attack 1” rotation would be smashing the target in the face with the shield. Or with the torch hitting them with it and perhaps doing fire damage (not a dot) instead of physical damage.
Your character has a weapon in both hands but the offhand is kinda boring when you never swing it.

As for shields I think it should be made possible to block attacks with it (it would be a substitute for dodging, and of course it would use endurance, or however that bar is called) . It would look absolutely awesome, wouldnt it? Basically I think it should be apossible to block attack like that with every single wepon. Rolling around like stupid, especially in heavy armor is ridiculous.

Yes that would be nice! I just don’t like the functionality of the shield and other offhands for that matter. I want to do something with em, something that isn’t on a 30s+ CD.

Same here.
They could at least redesign mainhand skills just so they would use offhand as well. For example you would make 2 attacks instead of one but deal less damage. It would make alot better from the visual point of view.

There was already a thread about this. There’s simply too much work required to do something like this and not only is it unnecessary but it would actually make combat more difficult to understand. Below is my response to the last thread.
“The whole idea is that (for most classes) the first 3 skills are specific to your mainhand weapon. If you change the animation it wouldn’t be the same attack. There would then be new animations people need to be able to recognize to see what attacks people are using. If you had a new animation you’d either have to attack with both weapons at exactly the same time or make the animation faster so it fit into the attacks timeframe.
This also would require a tonne of new animations to be made. You’d need to come up with new ones for ever class that can dual wield, every combination they could use AND multiple animations for each part of that slot/attack (eg. thief with sword: Slice, Slash, Crippling Stirike, AND Tactical Strike). That’s just way to much work which only serves to make combat more confusing for the person being attacked."
Apart from those points on a more subjective note, I certainly prefer having separate attacks for my weapons, it makes it feel like my offhand actually has its own function rather than just buffing a stat and making me look different.
