Hutchmistress of the Fluffy Bunny Brigade [FBB]
An old MUD feature I haven't seen for years
Hutchmistress of the Fluffy Bunny Brigade [FBB]
Long time in a 3 month old game? Really people?
And wanting a bot server in this game, where most people will try their bots to use them in a non bot server? You even talked about the economy. Why someone will buy a gem to pay for this server if you can have everything while you sleep? If this game is a Subs, well then this will be an management decision. But in a game like this it will just waste resources.
And there are games and servers that you can use some auxiliary AI.
As with any other suggestion about any kind of World with different rules: No.
No RP worlds, no PK worlds, no ‘all level 80’ worlds, and of course not this.
If a change or addition is not designed for all worlds, it should not be made at all.
ArenaNet makes the game for all of us. Not for small groups of us. It’s not a game to be modded or tailored for small groups. You have single player and lan games for that.
As a thought exercise and with the intent of researching the possibilities and capabilities of AI it’s a neat idea. Imagine if a game were to host something like that with the understanding that any routines players could come up with would be used for two things:
1. Further the advancement of in-game PvE AI to create more lifelike NPCs and make battle encounters much more fulfilling.
2. Give security programmers a deeper look into how a “bot” might interact with the game, making it easier to stop such activity.
I see where you are going with your request having been a MUDer myself, but you have to realize that is before gold farmers.
I have zero tolerance for gold farmers since they basicly use slave labor to get said gold. Your idea would legitimize this.
Just for those who are unaware gold farmers usually in a pacific rim country get paid 50 cents an hour to sit infront of a computer 12 hours a day just to take your money ccause your lazy.
The “your” is not aimed @the OP

It would certainly be a nice little playground for those that like toying with their own AI setups. However, it would have to be totally cut off from the main GW2 game, not just a separate server, but most importantly, a separate trading post and zero transfers between botland and pcland.
ArenaNet seems fairly overburdened with the existing game, though. I doubt they have the human bandwidth to even consider the potential profitability of such a creation. I suppose if you got 10,000 of your closest friends all jumping up and down asking for a botland, they’d seriously consider setting up a separate environment for it.
This is one of the biggest weaknesses of this title.
Huge no, that would let botters learn how to better program their bots and make sophisticated patterns and hacks in this game.

Oh I dunno other larger populated titles have been successful at banning bots the same way WITH macros installed in the game.
Historical fact is a kitten isn’t it.
I requested macros and aliases for text actions 2 months ago…
