This may have been tossed out for discussion but as I’ve just discovered these forums, I figured I’d mention it. With all of the collectors editions for the first GW, you got neat ingame items that made the collectors edition desirable. Granted, with the CE for GW2 you get the art (which is quite nice) and the Charr statuette (again…. nice!)…. but none of the in-game stuff that we were hoping to see. I’m not sure how many CE’s were sold for the game. I know that in my town I was the only one to order them. Some extra goodies would have been nice and maybe helped justify that price a little better. If the developers need some ideas of gifts to bestow onto those that hold a CE -I’m thinking a Black Lion Skeleton Key would go over well hint hint 
And then there was the Collectors Edition....

I was beyond disappointed with my deluxe edition aswell. A ring which becomes useless after a few levels and a banker which goes poof after 3 days. Would have bought the standard one if i could do it over. Could have atleast made the banker permanent… given some free gems .. extra character slot.. Just something permanent that will usefull for the entire run.
Bhansen…I completely agee with you. Had I known before hand that the CE was going to be such a let down – I would have downgraded mine but I felt wrong doing so because my local store only purchased the CE’s (yes – I purchased several CE’s so that the family each had one) that I ordered… they would have been stuck with them. I was the only one that ordered them locally :/
Buying the standard edition and spending the extra $20 on gems was the correct choice.
