Remember that lv 30 dungeon mail you receive from “The Herald” telling you about AC?

Can we please have another lv 30 mail that says

“Dungeons are much harder than normal PvE. The monsters hit really hard and they will destroy you if you do not go in prepared with enough defense power. Vitality and toughness gears are recommended if you don’t want to die in a second.

It is also recommended that you adjust your utility skills accordingly because going all signet isn’t always the best choice."

It’s a pain when you have to invite strangers to run dungeons with you because your friends went “Let’s WvW all day” and everyone you invited go glass cannon and die nonstop even in an easy dungeon like AC. Do you remember shouting for tankers only to get a guardian who assumes a shield is all you needed to tank and went pure power precision and crit gear?

And this will help new players as well. If you see someone having less than 400 Anet points in an AC run with an all signet build, the first thing that will come into your head is “he’s going to run in first and die in a second because he probably assumes the mobs in here only deals 200 damage per hit like the one outside” and that’s exactly what ALWAYS happen. They were not prepared for such a thing. They did not expect the difficulty scale to jump from 1 to 10. At least the mail will tell them what to expect and that they do deserve to die extremely fast from a random AoE if they go glass cannon.

I don’t like the dungeon system because it only makes those places available for people with friends. If i would ask now for an automatic random party finder, more people will jump and argue that they don’t want that. So I don’t care how the dungeons are doing. I am not gonna spend my time just waiting in front of a dungeon fro some one who will add me. Also, the good idea of multiple dungeon path turned out in separating the players.
I would think more if dungeons are hard or not only if they add the heroes from GW1 back. Until them I will just delete those mails no matter what the message is in there.
And from your post i see you will be one of those players who will kick me out of the party because my character gets killed. Elitism, I totally go against it.

Doesn’t even need to kick. After they die enough, they ragequit because they don’t want to repair anymore after calling everyone in the party bad and ruining the dungeon for the other 4. Also, unless you’re really really really really doing bad and is stubborn, the other three has no reason to follow-up unless it’s a group of friend and you really make them mad.

Do the party leader and the other members need to be elitists for the dungeons to succeed? Nope. All you need to do, is open the internet, google up “XXX dungeon guide” for a quick briefing and wear some defensive gears. Right now, almost no one is doing that. You get to 30? Let’s just “/map Looking for AC story group” and fail after a 2-3 hours dungeon run and complain the dungeon is too hard. I’m lucky there’re many abusable mechanics like “Boulder” or “Leash range” but those only work if people in the team do listen to you instead of trying to be “The Main Character” on their first run.

Most baddies won’t listen at all. I had some telling me “It worked outside so it should work here anyway. You’re just bad at tanking and didn’t absorb all those rifle shot for me”. If even the game is telling them that they’re doing something wrong, the chance of them listening might go up. The stubborn one is the one deciding how happy the other team members will be in a dungeon run. If he listens because the game and you are telling him he’s wrong and he actually changes, the entire party is happier.
