Arah story scaling for 1 player
I agree 100% as there should be this option for all dungeons, with rewards scaling down with the difficulty scaling down as well as scaling up for those experienced players looking for a greater challenge. Dungeons need NPCs that can also assist the small groups of 1, 2, 3, or 4 players so as to make this available to even the casual players as well as to let those players go through a “learning curve” so that when they feel they are capable they can then join the more experienced players in the more difficult levels.
I agree 100% as well. I think all the story dungeon paths or at least arah should have soloable versions.
While I don’t think the other story dungeons need a solo-able story mode, I have more mixed feelings with Arah, since it’s the culmination of the personal story. On one hand, I like the feeling of having other players, all at the end of their storylines, coming together for a story that’s bigger than any of them individually. On the other hand, if you don’t have GW2 friends or guildies available to go with you, you’re left to gather a PUG to go with you.
And you only have to get stranded two hours into the dungeon, only to have your teammates— or, help you, the party leader—bail out on you, to have second thoughts about ever fooling with “Victory or Death” again.

I look at it as being a way to encourage players that have had bad experiences with rage quitters and griefers who like to kick out teammates they feel aren’t good enough. Adding a solo mode with NPC heroes like what was possible in GW1 dungeons would let them get their achievements and have all the fun of the dungeon experiences while also learning at least some of the dynamics of how the dungeon works so they can work their way up in difficulty. While I’m sure most of the players are older, some of them I’m sure are kids who may be nervous about trying to get into the dungeons because honestly, other players can be mean. Obviously whatever loots an ‘easy’ or ‘easier’ mode would give should scale accordingly. Same with higher difficulties which then appeals to those ‘elite’ players who not only think the dungeons are too easy, but who also think many of the rewards are too little for that effort. It may not be something easy to implement, but I don’t honestly see a downside if the developers did this.
